Do people really boost? Or, and I'm serious about that, is it more a myth?
I get what you are saying @EREGDS But I'm going to go out and say I wouldn't use that definition of a noob, slang terms or otherwise.
Again, I honestly think Platinum IV players, for the most part, are acting exactly in line with how Respawn doesn't reward team play with public players (only pre-assembled teams), and doesn't reward advancement at Plat IV. And that is why it looks the way it does, but again people are blaming the players and I believe it's the completely flawed scoring. I actually think if people start encountering 'A LOT' of 'NOOBz' then...at a certain point, maybe the quantity really starts begetting a need to look at the system.
If you have a ton of car accidents at an intersection, the infrastructure people don't chalk it up to 'Noobz'. Even if they did, they aren't doing their jobs. They put in a light or start redesigning the roads. That's the analogy I'd use. A LOT, or WHY ARE THERE SO MANY?...is because something is way wrong and it isn't the players.
I can say for sure that in Apex legends as well as Battlecord Discord servers there are a lot of messages about people asking to carry them - like outright they write it pain and simple.
The worst case I saw was a player in Battlecord advertising that he knows how to get any level into Bronze lobbies and was offering a help - I am quite sure not for free, didn't bother to ask and get into that, reported him and went playing Apex.
Is boosting a thing: google it 🙂 I can't post links here, probably will be against ToS, but hell yeah and people are making it for their friends for free just to remain friends via simple account sharing (usually you can tell when you get matched with a seemingly normal, sensible person who just plays like crazy, get into conversation with him and more often than not he/she will be boosting his friends, relatives, kids accounts).
Also I have a proof - again can't post it here (naming and shaming, hail to that rule of the forums that leaves people wondering if someone is telling the truth) - where a person literally bought a Pred level in the middle of the split going straight from Plat to Pred - 100$ was the price as per my source and he got there under a week. Have that convo on demo from the game somewhere, would neet to look it up.
These cars we see at P4, D4, 10k Masters are there for a reason and in this case system supports them being there - more money and fun and bragging rights to everyone, less pleasant experience to legit players without a set squad.
