@Nerdhaven each map in my opinion is built from the developer's perspective yet it does not necessarily mean that people will play it like that = "breaking" this concept.
E.g. Fragment part of the map - in my opinion, if you are sensible person there is no intention to drop there:
a) not ideal loot
b) position "in the middle of the map" - hard to rotate out / people can rotate in from every direction
c) current traits show that a lot of teams land there - very high risk of the third party, not getting weapons on landing, etc.
Yet people still do it because of the kills! Because streamers do it, because landing there makes nice frag clips etc...
99% of us land there, get a kill or 3 and die, gg next game. And it is not a map but a people problem.
If you see tournament footage you actually see how neither of these points (except maybe vantage points and sniping) are very valid. Yet I agree that if you get sniped too much it is a matter of positioning.
As for traversing the area - sure, there are some open grounds yet that's the beauty of it. You are late for rotation = you get beamed from all angles. I mean devs might add trident for you :D will that make things better?
Map is the same for everyone, even grounds, just need to adjust and learn how to play it at each individual case.
If there would be a need to make any of the places more popular...it would still not work. E.g. I keep seeing people on Diamond level who for example even don't know that Trials exist and it has one of the best if not the best loot on the map, because they usually drop Fragment / Staging / Coundown / Skyhook as majority of the teams drop there or around...
