Wraith's phase takes too long

Wraith's phase may be considered one of the best Q's in the game, but in close quarters where it actually matters, her Q is completely useless. I've died a countless amount of times simply because her phase takes too long. I can't escape any close quarter situation if I'm having to wait a whole decade for her Q to actually activate. You also can't cancel this animation, and you basically stand still while entering phase. If you try to phase out of the open into cover, you're dead. If you try to phase away from somebody in a close quarters fight, you're dead. Her Q takes entirely too long and renders it almost completely useless in a close fight, especially with low HP. I don't understand where the idea to make her phase take so long came from. but it needs to be fixed.

  • @dawg_what1 If memory serves me, Respawn increased the deployment time because they wanted to discourage people from using the ability as a "get out of jail free" card. It was nearly instant originally, and was ridiculous, Lol. I don't feel like it needs adjusted from where it's currently at, which is 1.25 seconds.
  • So her Tactical is situational? Sounds like a decent design to me. A "Get Out of Jail Free Card" would be OP.

If you're dying while entering phase frequently, then you need to become more aware of that deploy time and adjust your strategy accordingly.  Shield broken?  Time to hoof it, or die.  I mean, i understand where you're coming from.  But it doesn't happen to me very often because I watch my health carefully and strive to phase early enough.  Adapt or perish!

  • @dawg_what1 If you are in close quarters combat pressing any special instead of shooting your gun should be bad. It is a gun game first. This is like caustics throwing barrels complaining they don't go off fast enough. Or Newcastles putting their wall down as they die.
  • There's a huge difference between those other tacticals, Wraith's tactical's purpose is for quick escape or safe movement. You usually use it to get away from enemies and that doesn't really work in close range if you need to back up because the animation is pretty long and you move at like 1 meter per year while activating it.

Well, if they brought that back, people would surely stop complaining about Valk and the Scan Meta...

@dawg_what1 No there is not a difference. Every ability in this game has an animation time that is purposely put in place. Her phase isn't a run into the middle of people and then run away ability. If you end up close quarters youve committed to the fight. You either win the fight or you don't. Or if you played smarter and can get behind some cover you activate it then and then get away.

@Kyldenar Old wraith was the easiest legend in the game to play as. You could be getting annihilated and be gone in a flash. Coupled with her small hitbox and running animation her pick rate was 30+%. I hated her more than @sandspitter hated valk. 🤣
  • @dSKyNafinchin I do.. I get respawned and instantly 1-3 teams rush me.. and I'm left to try and pick up a weapon of some sort of there even is one and I'm left defenseless
