Yet another caustic nerf?!?!?

I've been reading about the latest update and one article says that players have been calling for another nerf to caustic since the beginning of season 8??? WHAT?? What would they nerf next??? What's...

@Daze623 I understand why you would think that. But I know it's not just the pro-players. They take the entire communities feedback, not just the top players. But more importantly they base changes off game statistics we simply do not have access to. It's based off win rates, it's based off the success rate a legend has in 1vs1 1vs2 and 1vs3 fights. They take everything into account when they try and balance a gun or legend.

It's also not just based on the statistics from top tier lobbies. I would not be surprised at all if legend performance is different in low, mid and high skill lobbies. I actually know it is based on what I see in game. You will see Fuse players have success in the low tier lobbies, but he has almost no success in the top tier lobbies. Like wise people in the low and mid tier lobbies struggle with legends that perform well in the top tier lobbies. But despite that they try to find creative ways to balance the legends so they work in all lobbies.

I know that player feedback from this forum has been discussed and relayed to the game developers. They really try hard to provide the community with what we want to see, while also keeping things balanced.

@DarthValtrex I used to think like that too but after the Caustic balancing changes. I just now think they have a habit of blindly listening to proplayer complains. Before Caustic got nerfed hard, he was supposed to receive a buff that was dropped because of pro players and their followers complains. They complained about Caustic not because he's OP but because he's annoying to play against at end ring but for some reason the balancing team decided to just nerf him to the ground and call it a day. Did it deal with the issue? Yeah but now he's a legend that doesn't have any real place in the game just like Rampart and Fuse.

@Daze623 I understand your point. I know what the impact of Caustics last nerf was. I have a fairly good idea of what is coming and I'm not worried about the OP concerns at all. Based on what I've seen stated by devs publicly and other data I can find around the net. I think this thread is a ton of concern about nothing.

Caustic will still be a very strong legend.

  @DarthValtrex Whether or not they nerf him I still consider him below average legend. The only way to make him balanced is to just rework him at this point. His kit unless made completely weak will always be a nuisance for players. I just hope they don't pull off anymore balancing changes like this(aggressively nerfing) as it's something I absolutely hate seeing.

    @Daze623 The issue is he is not as weak as you say. And the one example you showed isnt doing anything to back that up.
    
    He was still used more than wattson in the last algs.
    
    I have had one scenario where the gas nerf killed me and my teammates in hundreds of games. Two of us were down and our remaining teammate had a 1v1 against the enemy but both were one shot. The enemy had been in my gas for 4 seconds while I was already down. We figure based on teammate damage report and my gas damage the guy was 10 health or less. 4 second difference now is exactly 10 health. My teammate lost the 1v1 but the 1v1 would have never happened in the old gas damage scenario. The thing is I did terrible with my gun in the fight. I missed badly on some shots. So I take responsibility for the death.
