Your opinion on how to beat Crypto

Hes not that powerful, and he slows the pace of your squad. The drone is fairly easy to see and you cant be a mile away for the nurolink to work. The ult is so so IMO so far, been hit with it by teammates... which i dunno if its a bug? Shoot the drone, and hes pretty much useless.

There only thing that I have noticed is that Crypto players are always lagging behind their squad, so it comes down to 2 people doing most of the fighting until Crypto decides to join and catches up.

His abilities are kinda meh. I usually play bloodhound, and I can tell my teammates where most enemies are, and in this game is fairly easy to see and just hear moving and shooting people. So other than EMP that can be pretty nice in certain situations, I feel like this character is probably not that great for an average player.

Not a big deal.

You can hear the drone from far away.

You only have to spit on it and it explodes, that's fine.

It is also fun to grapple it while your mate is controling it.

You can boost the grapple pretty good when he is moving it up or forward while grappling.

You place your drone high up, and charge rifle blast his low altitude nooob placement drone.

I'm serious.

Crypto's pace is really slow. It's really painful to go into hiding every time you want to use the drone. They should make it so that you can control it on the move. Maybe, I don't know.

Learn to shoot the drone. That's the most important part. You need to be able to shoot the drone when it starts ulting or otherwise you're royally screwed. And you also don't want to leave it hanging giving out info if a fight is about to start. If crypto is in the fight - the drone is not moving, so just find it and shoot it.

On the other hand, I usually leave my drone tucked in on roof or weird angles - so in this case, just ignore it. If you waste too much time to shoot it, crypto also wins.

Crypto also has no combat abilities (apart from the ult), so he's generally weaker than any other legend in simple combat. If he doesn't provide intel and the ult doesn't work, then he's just a legend with no skills at all.

Simply be aware that enemies know exactly where you are if a drone flew past and always expect an immediate ambush.

Although if you shot the drone - they probably won't push, since crypto cannot ult without his drone.

As for crypto lagging behind - t's not his problem, it's the teammates' that don't wait for him... So far I found him unplayable in unranked due to this reason and just barely usable in gold+ (ex-diamond+) ranked. So far I found the optimal way to play a crypto comp is with wraith - crypto goes in with drone, wraith goes in with portal, crypto ults and immediately goes into the portal. If the ult hits all 3 - it's practically a 100% win. So far managed to pull that off only once in gold ranked (with randoms), but it was glorious.

So again - try to shoot the drone, or you're screwed XD. If you do get hit by the ult, the most important thing is to not panic and act as if you were hit by an arc star. The most important thing to remember is that your sensitivity is significantly reduced when disabled, so aim much more vigorously.

I do hope ppl learn to wait for crypto, since he's really quite fun to play and has a powerful kit.

It's not crypto slow down the team. It's the team that rush too fast.
Just like watson, crypto is useless in the squad that only run and run everywhere.

Crypto, watson will shine in a well cordinated squad.

A typical formula is sth like this: crypto use drone to scout > Mark the target > squad attack and/or crypto activate ultimate and the follow up.

Btw, with this current meta, snipping from distance is good too.

I lag behind my squad but my g7 doesnt. Most of the time, i was like 50-100m behind my squad, which is sad i know ☹️

The problem with sniping on Crypto is that the rushing teammates don't even bother to give angles for sniping... They just have to find a fight behind that one small wall XD

Crypto is definitely going to be used a lot in highly coordinated games and he's probably be very seldomly used in unranked and lower rank ranked. Much like wattson was last season...
