Antimalware Service Executable spike CPU usage to 100%

Ever since Season 5 started, there's a process called Antimalware Service Executable that shows up in the task manager every time i launch Apex, it spikes up the cpu to 100% and the entire pc lags and become very slow, it stays that way for about 10-15 minutes before its back to normal (which is around 10-15%). I tried the solutions online which suggested i turn off the task scheduler or add apex/origin as an exclusion but nothing seems to work.

It was perfectly fine before the Season 5 update.

Same here. I've added the origin directory, the games directory all as exclusions to windows defender and it still kills my cpu.

@SerialTurd Please share here if you found a solution because i'm still struggling and even the support team didn't help me

same problem, added Apex in the exclusion list but nothing change.
Someone fix this pls...

I had same problem, and I tried to add EasyAntiChat folder as excluded and it seems to be salved in my case.

@miup123 Did you specifically exclude that folder? I have my origin games folder excluded which the EasyAntiCheat folder is a sub folder to that folder. I'd think it would be excluded automatically.

Like miup123 said it solved the problem for me by excluding both the whole Apex Folder and also the Files r5apex and EasyAntiCheat_launcher.

@SerialTurd In my environment, EasyAntiCheat exists inside of 'Origin Games' folder and outside of the folder as 'Program Files/Origin Games/Apex/EasyAntiCheat' and 'Program Files/EasyAntiCheat'. My exclusion setting is both of them. First, I tried to add only Origin games, it is not effective. Next I tried to add Program Files/EasyAntiCheat and solved.

Solution that worked for me:
Go to your main drive, find system32, find easyanticheat (.sys or .exe) and add that as a safe program to your windows defender.
It seems to be the easyanticheat software that gets thoroughly investigated every time it starts up, might be because it needs access to so much of your computer.

My path is C:/Windows/System32/drivers/easyanticheat.sys
