@wiseolddude in what resolution do you play?
Maybe it is related to the Mainboard/soundchip? We both have asus Mainboards
- 5 years ago
I play on a 1080p.
Also I didn't have this issue on driver 442.59 on my 1080ti on the same motherboard.
I'm wondering if its indeed the driver or there's something actually wrong with my 3080.Fkcin frustrating
Nothing makes sense. It's so random when it happens but it's consistently the same * spike.I've tried and checked everything I could (even event viewer) and nothing correlates with it when it happens.
The only thing of note I noticed is an error under admin events in event viewer "Session "dfa2c640-651d-488d-a479-2fd7a7ca6e29" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022" while playing apex. But it didn't happen every time the spike happened so I assume they are unrelated.

I have something like this once in a while on shooting range. But I am RTX 2080 Ti and 461.40. Also in-game in the drop ship framerate jumps up and down like crazy depending on where I look. I am playing as 2560x1080 on 3440x1440 monitor (if that counts for something). The cpu is 10700k.

I'm having the exact same problem with 2080ti
- 5 years ago
In range, the game runs very smoothly, but in pubs, the frame rate is not stable. Especially in dropship, the framerate is only 30-40, and when I land, it is less than 100. This problem has been occurring since season 8.
- 5 years ago@PsyhiX69 my framegraph looks exactly the same and i also have an 2080ti. I also tested with a 3060ti and the Spike pattern is the same so it is not caused by a gpu hardware issue.
- 5 years ago@supermatze0202 Atleast now we have undeniable proof it's not on our end.Its either the driver or the game.
- 5 years ago@wiseolddude You are absolutely right but why do only a few people talking about that problem?
@supermatze0202Same reason as always. Most ppl play trough it or don't percieve it that badly.
Reminds me of the Monster hunter world input stutter. It was basically a stutter related to what you pressed.EVERYONE had the issue as it was tied to key presses but it was subtle enough that most and I mean MOST didn't notice it or claimed they didn't have it.In the end a random modder from Nexus fixed the issue for capcom.
TLDR:Don't trust ppl's perception unless they have proof saying otherwise. - 5 years ago
Just to be 100% sure. That 2 frame time spike pattern ingame shows as 1 big spike in the MSI Hardware monitor graph?Just as a sanity check for me.The pattern looks similar and is probably the same thing I get.You say you get that in the firing range? I get it randomly once/twice a game (And I mean randomly) showing as the same pattern every time.

Any news about how to fix this?
I have the same issue on my system. My previous system was a 3800x and 1080ti. I recently upgraded to a 5800x and 3080, the frametime spikes continued. I tried everything you have including reinstalling windows with nothing helping. I am also very annoyed by this issue.
- 5 years ago@Babrahamm Did you also have these problems with you 3800x?
- 5 years ago@supermatze0202 Yes both of the cpus do that. The next thing to try is a new motherboard. I found another thread on blurbusters where people complaining of the same issues and one person theorized that the motherboard is faulty.
- 5 years ago@supermatze0202 Second post on second page https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5145&start=10

How come when I don't have any similar issue in others game? I think the problem is just the game itself, in the past I didn't have this issue.
- 5 years ago@Babrahamm Funny, i bought a second motherboard a few days ago (msi x570 unify). Sadly no changes. Frametime spikes persists.
