Turns out like some speculated that ROLLING BACK my video card drivers worked. Played for 3 hours without an issue since.
RTX 2070 8gb
Rolled back from 418.81 to 417.71
My name is Manuel Guzman and I am part of the NVIDIA Customer Care team. Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce this issue on my home system (GeForce RTX 2080). FWIW, I was running the game with max graphics settings. I will need more information so that I can file a bug and ask our software team look into this. Users seeing DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error while playing Apex Legends, please answer the following:
1) How long does it take for error to appear ( how many rounds of gameplay)?
2) Can you email me screenshots of your in game graphics settings used?
3) Either fill out the driverfeedback form below or send me the MSINFO32 file from your PC as described in the following FAQ:
NVIDIA Display Driver Feedback Form:

Microsoft System Information FAQ:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2507/
4) What monitor(s) are you running and what resolution are you playing the game at?
Please send me the information above to [edit: email address removed]. Thank you.
EDIT: Unfortunately the forums here deletes the email address. If you Tweet/DM me I can provide you with the email address or you can fill out the driver feedback and I will get back to you.
Also for more advanced users, if you have minidump or full kernel dump files that you can share, that would be very helpful as well.
Regards,
Manuel Guzman

- 7 years agoGetting the same error - the first time it happened when pressing too many keys at once and I was able to replicate by doing the same.
The 3rd time it happened I wasn't pressing any more than 3 keys at once. I then went through a period of expierencing this every game for 4 in a row.
Switch to controller and was able to play 5 games without crashing and then it happened on the 6th.
2080 Ti, i7-8700k, 16gb RAM, default graphics settings, full screen mode, running AW3418DW monitor and a second dual screen that just has Discord open. - 7 years agoExactly this problem with 418.81 driver with my EVGA RTX2080 xc and my G-sync monitor AW2518H running at 200hz in long games 3rd to 4th round my graphics are mostly ultra. It did not happen to me with the last driver.

Hi there,
Im running a RTX 2080 I7-7700k and 16gb of 2666mhz RAM, playing at
1440p, I can run the game at max and lowest settings
It still crashes, and its random sometimes it will happen 5 rounds in
a row and sometimes can go for a few hours with out a crash.
I have no issue playing any of the other games latest and old
this is a driver issue either on nvidia end or respawn,
could be a conflict i wouldn't know but its destroying the game for me
i try play and the last 3 days i end up just stopping cause of crashing
please this is a major issue I know a lot of other people having this issue
to, fix it please, no day one drivers? maybe an update to fix?

i5-3550, GTX 1080 (USING RECOMMENDED DRIVERS FROM THIS THREAD DOES NOT WORK FOR ME)
I get the crash once every 2-3 games. Massively inconvenient and frustrating, esp combined with the rampant disconnecting. God this game could be so great! Please get on this.- 7 years ago
I used to have this issue:
Game would all of a sudden freeze go to a black screen then exit to desktop without any error code or message.
What fixed it for me:
1) Downloading Display Driver Uninstaller from Guru3D
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
2) Rebooting system into Safe-Mode.
3) Running the above program to completely remove my video drivers then rebooting out of Safe-Mode.
4) Lastley, Re-Installing the latest Nvidia Display Drivers from the Nvidia website.
After doing the above procedure my game has not crashed since.
I tried doing the classic driver update (via GForce Experience) and that didn't solve the issue until I did a complete wipe.
PC Specs:
i7 7700k Intel CPU
Nvidia GTX 1080 TI GPU
Hope this helps someone else out there.
