Apex legends error reading pak file

Hi @Gdwga.

Let's see if we can help fix that here. First, do you have the game installed on an external hard drive? If so, can you try moving it to your console's internal drive to see if that helps?

I've also seen cases where reinstalling the game can help with errors like this. There might be something missing or corrupted in the game data, so a reinstall may help.

Hey @Socalizing,

If you follow the file path in the error message you're getting are you able to locate the specific .rpak file from the error? If so, try renaming that file to something different, then repair Apex Legends in Origin.

Let me know if that helps at all with the error.

I searched up the file name and looked all through the rpak files and didnt find the file to rename it. I have the game on steam, can i only fix this on origin?

  As far as I know it shouldn't make a difference if you're playing through Steam. Are you not seeing any of the rpak files at all, or is it just specifically the one from the error message?
