Didn't receive apex coins after using code.

I won a code on lululuvely chat today, i went to https://www.ea.com/redeem to activate it it says its activated but when i go on steam i dont have my coins 

i saw on the forum that you have to start the game from ea app but does that mean i have to download apex again on the ea app bc do not have it my account are linked ????
