Engine Error - Couldn't Initialize Sound

After the legacy update, I receive this error on startup of apex. I am running the game from the EA launcher. Does anyone have suggestions on a fix?

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It seems to be working fine now

@ChristianJ7 To confirm are you playing from the EA Desktop or Origin Client?

    @EA_Illium Hi. I am also having this problem after the legacy update. I'm also playing through EA Desktop and have the same error as @DATSUNEGO . Unfortunetly I can't find a repair game feature. I have tried several audio devices, the main one being bluetooth headphones. I also tried disabling all other devices, and made sure the apex audio preferences were set to default. Any advise would be great

  @DATSUNEGO seems like the update have corrupted some files. checking integrity or reinstalling should help.

@EA_Illium same issue here , using windows 8.1 Pro
yesterday everything was working well but i just woke up and when i try to launch apex it tells me :

Couldn't intialize sound. Please make sure you have a sound playback device that is enabled and properly configured. Failed in: MilesDriverCreate Miles output follows: Couldn't create XAudio2.

I'm playing on Steam : PC :

  Same problem. Randomly started happening after playing s15 for a few days. Tried changing language, verifying cache, reinstalling.

    The same problem with me. I played few games after release of s15 and now I have exact same issue. Have anyone found the solution?
