It's not possible to play Apex Legends without first linking your Nintendo account to an EA account. Probably, you're not getting any prompt to link your Nintendo account because it's already linked to an EA account. We wouldn't be able to tell you over the forums which account it is linked to, but you can contact EA Help Support to get further information on this.
