Mic doesn't work in game

https://youtu.be/xb8PmwkGXwI

This makes no sense at all to me. Here is a video showing you the issue

Works on OBS and other apps like Discord and is set to default on Windows, but not Apex. Open mic does nothing even if I choose System Default or the Mic it's self. If I pick push to tal,k the mic looks activated but no one can hear me I have tested this in a few games.

Any ideas?

  • MagnumSkyWolf I remember Sea of Thieves randomly doing this to me, and the solution I've found, (which hopefully works for you), was to manually set the sound settings in the Window Settings.

Note: This guide will be for Windows 11, (if you're on Windows 10, its a bit different, but it should work the same):

    1. Open the Audio Volume Mixer
      - This can be done by either searching for "volume" in the Windows Search bar and then clicking on "Sound Mixer Options", or by opening up the Windows Settings, then going to System > Sound > Volume Mixer.

This is the Window you want to see:
    2.  From there, you want Apex to be opened so it will show up in the list. Once you find it in the list, click on the drop down arrow:
    3. Change "default" to your headset/mic for both options:

      - If that doesn't work, you may need to reinstall your headset's drivers, (with Apex closed), restart your PC, and then hopefully the game would recognize it as a valid headset/mic.

Note: My game is also doing the same thing where the audio threshold isn't picking up audio, the mic icon is appearing, but other players are able to hear me.

Thanks so much for your response unfortunately it hasn't worked I even installed a fresh copy of Windows 11 and still it does not work. Maybe on voice banned something 😂😂😂

Until I get this matter fixed it's impossible to play the game with randoms and you can't communicate with each other sad because I truly love the game.

    Hey MagnumSkyWolf

Can I just check with you a few things, please?

    • Were you in a party (minimum 2 users) when trying to observe the "Record Threshold" ?
    • Does the microphone work while in the match?

From the media you have provided here, we can see the front-end settings, which need another player in the party in order to function.
The setting "Open Mic Record Threshold" will only detect the microphone if another user is present in the party. This way, the Voice Chat will be activated; therefore, the setting will detect the microphone input threshold.
