Sound Settings

Hi,

Anyone have the idea on how to turn the Windows Audio Configuration back to Stereo Headphones instead of 7.1 Surround Sound or completely remove the Windows Audio Configuration? In my Windows Sound configuration my Headphone is on Stereo mode and Windows Spatial sound is disabled. The audio driver is Realtek HD Audio.

When I play other games it's on stereo but Apex automatically set it to Surround Sound 7.1 and my headphone has no Surround Sound 7.1 .

  • For me this same problem started on Monday, been trying to solve it all week, then this morning it was just changed back to "stereo" in settings again...lovely. But now I got home from work and its f#*n back to "7,1" in settings. For no apparent reason at all.

    Im boiling

The config file is located in C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local\settings.cfg

    Open this file in notepad.

Scroll down to the line that says "sound_num_speakers"

    7.1 is value "8"

    Stereo is value "2".

So if you want to set it to stereo put (sound_num_speakers "2")

Also you should match the settings on the windows settings so if you want to use stereo use stereo on windows too.
