Unable to change airspeed during drop

Have you had the chance to try repairing Apex Legends to see if that helps at all? If you're using Origin you can right-click on Apex Legends in the game Library and click the Repair option when the menu pops up. 

If you're using Steam please try verifying the integrity of the game files to see if that helps. You can find more information on how to verify the files over at the Steam Support website. Let me know how that goes when you've got the chance.

All files verified good.

I had thought that I was always able to properly control descent when using one of the zip lines to a balloon but it turns out it was working with those only sometimes.

I also tried again to wait till I am auto launched by waiting till the end but the time I tried it didn't work that way either.

I have a video that show how it looks but I need to reformat to make it smaller as it won't upload.

So I had forgotten my joystick was plugged in and thought oh that must be it, but no still the same problem even after unplugging joystick. I have a video to show because the few times it has worked properly it looks different and hopefully by seeing it you can tell what is happening.

I appreciate that. What happens if you start up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there's anything else running on the PC that could be interfering that may help to get around it.
