Re: FC 27 PC – Freezing and Micro-Stuttering During Gameplay
Hello,
I am experiencing a persistent micro-stutter issue in Apex Legends. Every 5–7 seconds, there is a very brief hitch/frame drop. The time interval between spikes seems to be completely fixed and periodic, not random at all, even though my FPS stays high and stable (capped around 144 FPS).
System Specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i7-14660HX
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 Laptop
OS: Windows 11
GPU Driver Version: 617.42
RAM: 16 GB (Single Channel)
What I've noticed / Troubleshooting done:
Other games work perfectly: Marvel Rivals and KovaaK's run completely smooth with zero micro-stutters. The issue is isolated to Apex Legends (and likely related to recent updates/EA Javelin anticheat interactions).
Performance Monitor (Perfmon) check: DPC/Interrupt times are flat (not a driver latency issue), but Apex shows massive, regular spikes in Page Faults alongside IO reads.
Tried fixes: Clean driver installation, disabling background Wi-Fi network scanning / security features, checking power profiles, verifying game files, and lowering graphics settings—none of these eliminated the periodic 5-7 second hitch.
It seems like a memory paging or background polling issue triggered by the game/anticheat engine every few seconds. Is there any official fix or workaround being tracked for this?
Thank you!
