20 Year Battlefield Anniversary. Where do you rate 2042 in the series?
So for me I put it among my least favourite releases in the series.
Which means I put it alongside BF2, BC1 and BC2.
Not a bad game but no where near my favourites in the series.

This game is as much fun as a root canal. Absolute garbage and the biggest fail and last Battlefield game I'll ever buy. Bunch of half baked ideas and "progressive thinking" have turned the series into a bigger sewer than Call of Duty. Was this disaster on purpose?
I'm going to go with last, I liked BC2, BF2, BF4 also BF1942.
BF3 is/was the best ever
BF2042 definitely rates lowest for me, imho it does not even feel like a game from the BF series.
Way too many essential elements missing that made BF great.
I have never felt so frustrated with any previous BF game. ☹️
I'm with Ray...for me this game isn't a Battlefield game. So it is not in my BF list of fav.

Of course I can.
My ranking is based on my enjoyment of a game and BF2 was a major letdown after the legendary BF1942 kicked off the series.
BF2 in my opinion was a bland, dry experience that took itself too seriously and there's not one map I would want to play again.
It introduced some good features such as squads and kit gadgets and I did quite like the Special Forces DLC but as soon as 2142 came out I never went back to BF2.
In fact now that I've thought about it more I've definitely had a lot more fun playing 2042 than I did with BF2.
Being late to the party (started with BF1, went to Hardline/BF4/5) feel my opinion is kinda mute.
That being said, 2042 is #4 on my list
- @Tank2042Man Let me phrase it that way, Battlefield Hardline provides a better military shooter experience than 2042.
- @RayD_O1 Not even on my list of BF games. This is nowhere near a BF game. I think of it as a cheap spinoff.
Near the bottom just above Battlefield Hardline. Tied with BFV.
I started with BF3 and played all that came after. For me most deviations from the heights of BF3 (and BF4 after the fixes) are grounds to deduct points for. BF1 deviated a lot but managed to stay fun in its unique way. BFV doubled down on the deviations of BF1 and made more mistakes (Battle royale focus and live service among them), BF2042 continued most of the mistakes of BFV and added more to the pile with the specialists. BF Hardline is a BF4 mod that should had been DLC and not a standalone game.
