I’ve just started to try and get some skill level up in the AA-aps does help but now AA will just be sitting ducks.
I still think an out of bounds timer for vehicles is more beneficial than this aps decision
This development team is something else. Do they not understand what this is going to do to infantry ops as well? The APS was the only thing that made Redacted playable. So there is going to be even more explosive spam on Redacted; that is all we needed. The clown show keeps on giving.

At first I was going to respond that this was not affecting grenades etc.
Then I realized that since this nerf affects AT launcers, people in Redacted will be able to spam RPGs right into corridors.
What the heck are they thinking?!

They didn't think about Redacted. Looking at the game Battlefield, they just tried to balance things mainly looking at a large scale all out warfare.
Redacted is a niche map in this game. Not really a battlefield map but i understand it is popular.
They should apply special rules and restrictions to these smaller infantry maps if they choose to include them in a game that is known for large scale war game with vehicles. Obviously these changes don't work for both kinds of maps.- UP_Hawxxeye2 years agoLegend

I'm wondering if these types of changes are really about server performance. Many months back I noticed the server performance icon was ocassionaly popping up. Indicating the server was having issue maintaining the 45hz tickrate.
Several of the changes they have made have been geared to slowing things down and reducing actions. In some cases these reductions would also minimize usage of cpu cycles.
In season 5, they put a cooldown on the Irish sentinel so that it would only intercept every 5 seconds. I imagine this greatly reduced the amount of computation needed to calculate the projectile's intercept based on velocity, directional vectors, etc. for every sentinel on the map and every map on the virtual machine.
Same could be said for eliminating sundance anti-armor functionality which would require the server to calculate positions and vectors for tracking moving air and land vehicles.
By reducing these ocurrences of these, or eliminating them they reduce server cpu usage. This means they sqeeze more virtual game instances into the same number of amazon game hosts and reduce overal costs.
