All friends quit because of crossplay

Ah battlefield what a nightmare you were on release. I will say I have grown to love the game in it's current state though! However all of my friends have quit from frustration because of crossplay and out of boredom I to will be moving on.

Just something for the game in the future. Unless you are a far above average console player this game will bring you 0 enjoyment. Mouse and keyboard players are already naturally faster and more accurate with aim but the insult to injury is they are getting information faster than the console end.

I play on both platforms and my K/D on PC is astronomically higher than it is on ps5 and that is with controller input still. On my ps5 if I run into a pc player where we both surprise eachother I am already dead before I can react. The same happens when I play PC and the tables turn.

My ps5 is on my network via cat5 and my pc is on wifi so it isn't a network issue in terms of my personal network anyway. Obviously it is just better equipment and in a game like this where ttk is so rapid and there is little a console player can do.

Anyway, I hope one day the servers are loaded with enough people for console to opt out of Xplay and PC to have constantly live lobbies without console! Hope to come back one day!!!

I am really happy with the improvements made to the game as well!!! It's headed in the right direction.. for the future though you have pretty much made anyone on console find the experience to be a frustrating nightmare and I hope that can be addressed one day.

Have fun yall!!!!

Your friends did the right thing. Crossplay should be a matter of player choice, not a forced option. In BF2042, I noticed that the system selects the level of players for combat. For example, my child often sits down to play on my PC. And after it, I notice that I am thrown into a battle where the enemy is not as formidable as usual. The first 2 fights are easy, then the freebie ends.

  • @FknHeadBangaI've had the exact opposite experience. Whenever a console player and I surprise each other, the console player nearly always wins. It feels physically impossible to win the gun fight. They get a head start somehow, don't take damage right away, and always seem to land head shots no matter where they're aiming on me.

Consoles are just proprietary PC's basically on a network. So it really shouldn't be a problem, but there's definitely something going on with how the different networks communicate. Like there's a delay.

On paper I like cross play, but in practice I don't know. It just gets frustrating to everyone when it feels like a death wasn't earned.

  • Hmmm.. yea something must be different in the communication between networks but I won't pretend to know what it is cause I don't know much about it lol. I wonder why my pc and console play feels so different. I without a doubt prefer playing PC not just because of the eye candy but my game play is so much better. That's the only "testing" I have done lol.

I hope they can find a way to get this game in terms of population to what was expected and people can kind of pick and choose who they are playing against.. the biggest complaint I have consistently heard is about Xplay from console players.

Also as a console / PC player it really sucks that so many hackers have tarnished PC players. That is one thing I haven't seen much, or at all on 2042 "that I'm aware of" but if you have one good PC player drop 70 kills with 12 deaths every console player is assuming hax and they get even more frustrated with Xplay.

Idk.. I think the only win would be an update setting consoles to xplay off and give them the option to enable.. but that could possibly alienate their PC audience if the numbers aren't right across all platforms. I don't want that to happen either. Maybe it is just a network bug that can be ironed out though.. for the love of God the one thing I hope they DO NOT DO is increase console aim assist. I had to edit some settings cause I couldn't aim down sights without it pulling to everyone on my ps5 and that made it harder for me than not having it lol.
