Already bored of the maps!

As the title says. It would of course help, if you were to enable portal weapon progression, we are begging for this for weeks now. Wake Up!!

If you are not going to, at least give as conquest small with 64 players, cos these maps feel different when they are smaller, at least we could choose between large 128 and small 64.

Come on dice, what takes you so long, flick that switch already.

  • I would love a remake of Paracel Storm and Siege of Shanghai. Those were great maps.

  • All maps feel static. The should implement more destruction (the unique core aspect of BF for me) and events that really impactfully change a map. The rocket on Orbital is a blender, it doesn't have any impact. The tornado doesn't have any impact as well.

@Vodkaminsky Havent seen the rocket took off since the beta. Dont know whats up with that. Imo that should be every time on orbital.

@Nutcrusherr The maps are just ugly and empty. If they need inspiration just look at the portal maps in terms of design… they’re awesome
  • launching with 7 maps is always bad play for Battlefield. Especially if it's a long wait till the next map!  BF3 launched with over 8 maps plus had Back to Karkand drop within a month of release. Best DLC ever imo! So we had enough content to keep us going till the next DLC in the spring which was close quarters.

If there are no new maps till sometime next year it will further compound the apathy

  • @Nutcrusherr Great suggestions. And yeah 7 maps is going to get old quick. Consider past games launched with 8-10, often with maps on the way a month later.

I will say that after playing the 64 player maps on PS4 with a friend, it was somewhat eye opening how poorly the 128 maps use space for double the player count. Some of the 64 player maps like Discarded are actually better:

    - Discarded is just the ship areas on 64 player which is easily the best part.
    - Hourglass however is not good. For some reason they decided not to use the Stadium as the center piece for the 64 player map.
    - Orbital plays about the same, and isn't much smaller really. They have a flag at both the bottom and top of the rocket hangar which is nice.
    - Kaleidoscope is about the same, just missing the buildings on one side.
    - Manafest plays out better IMO since they just leave out the docks on one sise and put flags on other parts of the map. It mixes the scenery up better.
    - Breakthrough is not good. They don't use any of the elevated areas, so the wide open space between the rig and the A flags causes flow problems.
    - Renewal is nearly identical to the 128 map! lol. Seriously, they just cut off a couple corners.

So yeah its a different experience. I found overall it's better to get your feet wet on the 64 player maps. The action spaces out better as for some reason the 128 versions aren't much bigger for double the player count. There should be 8 flags (A through H) on 128 versions minimum. The congestion and flow seems more normal on the 64 player maps.
  • I agree, I played on the xbox one x with 64 players and compared to the 128 players on pc i had more fun with the 64 players with its smaller map area.

@Tank2042Man It is subjective. All products sold are subject to the various preferences of the consumers. The overarching point in this is none of the maps in 2042 are being given the same level of community respect as maps from the predecessors. None of the 2042 launch maps will live up to Metro, Golmud Railroad, Firestorm, Wake Island or Oman.
