Appreciation for the incredible audio in BF 2042

I honestly have zero idea if - ANYTHING - from here gets to the devs but, it frustrates me terribly, if they would think certain things about BF go unnoticed or unappreciated or both.

As a LONG time BF lover, with, controversially, my fav being BFV and, close behind, 2042, I have always been in awe of the audio presentation and overall quality.

I am into the whole home cinema experience/Hi-Fi etc, with good headphones and good AMP/Speakers.  So it does not go unnoticed that some of the devs are working hard on the audio - I listen, and I love it.

The game is so good in so many ways, do keep at it devs, the game is gaining reputation for being VERY VERY good! And rightly so, just do not give up on it, in my opinion, it was released one year early, and that's it.

Outstanding audio guys, thank you!

    Oh just to add: Please consider this FEEDBACK (No pun) - the hit feedback/bullet contact audio is a little wishy washy/weak.  Also the headshot sound is not tremendous for my personal taste.

    Just feedback. (again, no pun intended)

    While the sound is undoubtedly better than it was at launch, I can't agree with this.

    Sound in 2042 is muddy and overly compressed. The dynamic range is limited, which makes it difficult to hear footsteps and other environmental cues when playing. It's possible for a tank to sneak up on you in this game.

    @filthy_vegans Gotta agree.

    BF-games have always sounded good, but have had issues with missing sounds (footsteps, vehicles etc). BF1 and BFV improved things a lot though.

    2042 is a step back from the previous games and the audio is now pretty worthless for anything else than the 'cinematic feel'. Footsteps are like BF4 (almost non existent), any sense of distance is totally lost and vehicles are often almost silent even when close.
  • @HugeBignessSorry mate I need to respectfully disagree. While they’ve done mood music ok, the sound effects of weapons and vehicles is sorely lacking. Past games recorded actual gun fire and used it in game. 2042 sounds like generic game files used to make pretend gunfire. Take the M16 for example, you should be able to hear the return spring cycle as you fire. It should also be louder in your right ear. I have decent Sennheiser headphones and can tell you that even BadCo 2 had better sound. Frankly these days with the quality of recording equipment and access to firearms there’s not a reason, except cost, to use such generic sounds. Footsteps are also so odd. Are they 2’ away or 20’? I can’t tell without looking, and again past games did this much better.

    All fair points.

    BF1 and BFV were something special. In my opinion.

    As for positional audio, I have never seen BF as a 'competitive' game - I just enjoy immersion and cinematic audio - they may have dumbed down the positional audio accuracy to close the skill gap and mitigate the absurd mixing of input methods due to crossplay.  I can only speculate what they had to do to due to Crossplay implementation and a seeming complete lack of input based matchmaking.

    On another note - I don't think the music from BF1 will ever be rivaled
