Are smurf accounts a thing? See so many new accounts ripping the scoreboards

I see it so often litterly fresh same day accounts that are ripping the scoreboard, they seem to just buy the game make a new account and pay for the Battlepass and rip the scoreboards... but why?

If they are it’s not really a problem. Smurfs specifically refer to people making new accounts to get around games with a skill based matchmaking system to get easier opponents. There’s no ranking system in battlefield, so what’s the deal?
