@GrizzGolf Like you know...balancing each gun based on its performance instead of applying flat nerf across the board.
I think that is one of the problems that the plus-system introduced, essentially with the right loadout/setup you can make almost every class of weapons mimic the other weapons classes.
Any of the ARs (with the right setup) can be a very effective AR, SMG, or DMR.
Balancing weapon "variants" like in previous BF games doesn't really exist in BF2042.
- @Ironhead841 I would disagree that every AR can be molded into whatever you want.
Sure, something like M5A3 or AW40 can be set up in a way that caters to different playstyles. But AK24 or AC42 or ScarH are very linear weapons with not much room for different playstyles.
Same can be said about RM68, its a very linear weapon. The only problem that it had was its insane damage and lack or recoil. Nerfing damage drop off or giving it 10-15% more recoil would've done a better job.
The worst (for me its funniest) part is that this "change" was aimed at skilled players who were capable of beaming others within 100 meters in an instant, and to a certain extent it's still possible with a bit of practice IF you're one of those skilled players using the right setup.
On the other side of that firefight, if you're the one who got beamed, I have bad news for you - It won't help you. The other bad news - now you cannot fight as effective because you too have to learn a new mechanic in order to be competitive. Spraying and praying in my general direction now does absolutely nothing because of the spread.
I've already had multiple instances of someone holding the trigger and dumping an entire 40-round mag only to miss 95% of the shots.I don't know I feel pretty confident that you can mod almost all the weapons into some sort of a configuration to make them comparable to other classes of weapons in other categories.
It's not a 1 to 1 comparison of course but with the available barrels, different ammo types etc. etc. you can configure most full-auto guns to mimic the other classes of weapon categories.
Even the LMGs can be made into brutal CQB weapons on par with SMGs which is kinda stupid, but it can be done.
I hope there are changes coming quickly and we do not have to wait weeks or months!
