Hey @Dispackt Thanks for taking a moment to share your feedback! Would it be possible to get further information on what you would like to see changed? Is there any menu in specific that you feel should be updated? How would you like it to look?
- @EA_Illium The in-game user interface looks sloppy and of poor quality. More serious map weapon indicator can be added. It's very colorful right now and I think it kills the theme of the game.I produce videos on Youtube and the comment I get the most is the feeling of guns and hits, it definitely needs to get even better
- @EA_Illium The UI is too much in your face with the neon colours and bold text. The first thing you notice when you jump in a game is not the surroundings but the UI. Never understood why DICE didnt just keep the UI from BF1 or BFV. It was clean and sharp, as every UI should be.
Once DICE adds actual UI customisation, if ever actually, Ill be decreasing the opacity of the entire UI and change all the UI colours to white. Like I said, the current one is too in your face. @EA_IlliumA couple of classes in UI or GUI design will teach that this game has bad readability. Font is skinny in blurred/mushy background. The mainmenu is focusing on characters instead of flow of browsing categories. Sounds regarding menu is weird sounds that can blend in as noise in the music. Etc.
Edit: sound goes more under UX but still, it affects the GUI.
- @Zoikon Tabs here and tabs there, instead of keeping them in one side of the screen.
- @Zoikon The scoreboard should be a scoreboard and not tracking progress.
- @Zoikon thumbnails of different modes/menues don't pop out. They should. This has to do with contrast in size, color value, light value, and shape.

My biggest bug bear was the way the focus of the menu would switch from a top of screen to bottom of screen layout but the controls on the PS5 control wouldn’t adjust.
so for example, top menu layout, knuckle move main menu left right. Triggers move submenu left right. And that made sense x
However, in character / loadout screen mid game. The main menu bars are on the bottom of the screen.
whoch wouldn’t be so bad if the triggers switched as well I.e bottom triggers move bottom menu(loud out), knuckle triggers move specialist menu. But they don’t.
and to compound the issue, you can also use the D-pad and enter a substrate where you edit the loadout.
basically it’s a cluster bomb of a UI.
infact it made it so unpleasant to play the game this is one of 3 issues that I attribute to me uninstalling the game.
A) consider the fact that older people play your game and don’t have the dexterity to quickly make specialist and loadout changes with stupidly complex menus.
B) stick labels on the menu that reinforce the controller triggers, BF4 does this well.
c) menu navigation mid game is a time critical factor that can easily spoil a high intensity moment mid battle.d) I got so foffed entering the battle only to find I’d somehow selected some unwanted off spring of a meta loadout.
It lacks consistency and frankly moving around the menu using the (PS5) shoulder buttons still catches me out.
Another annoyance for me is in-game, when selecting a spawn point; using the left stick or D-Pad buttons to select a spawn point is so irritating, it often will not highlight the one I want, skipping past it to another one, I never had this problem with previous BF games.
And when are we going to get the "over the shoulder view" of our squad mates so we can judge whether to spawn on them, like every other BF game?
2042 is such a backwards step. 20 years and no lessons learned. BF2042 should be the ultimate BF game, the pinnacle of the series. It's unbelievable that players are having to highlight issues that worked fine 5 years ago on previous games.

Oh my god the spawn selection. So infuriating. Randomly jumping around. Yuck, yuck, yuck
