Battlefield 2042 - Recoilless M5

Hello there,
I have a bit of a recommendation for battlefield 2042.
I don't know how most of the community feels about this game, I personally quite enjoy it, the content creators I watch have not enjoyed it but the videos I watched were also about the beta.
The thing I want to talk about is the Recoilless M5. I was an anti-tank soldier in the mandatory military service in my country, I used the Carl-Gustav M2 (old weapon I know). It is also a Recoilless rocket launcher (technically grenade launcher since the thing that explodes and deals damage is called a grenade and the thing that propels the grenade is the rocket). The ammo used in the game visually is HE441 grenades/rockets, a shrapnel rocket, the one used on tanks is the HEAT551 grenade/rocket, the visuals are INCORRECT (it IS 2042 so I dont know how things have changed obviously but I believe my point still stands). Now the HEAT551 ammo is all black, cylinder shaped which goes narrower near the tip, it's not sharp but the shape helps jam the grenade into the armor of the vehicle and then explodes, weakening the armor, the next shot is used to deal damage to the tank after the armor has been weakened it might destroy the tank in two hits but that's usually not the case so you fire the third shot as well (quite accurate in the game), a tank is considered disabled when it is on fire cause who would stay in a tank when it's on fire. The issue I have with it is not just visual, it takes three shots to disable a tank (seems accurate in the game so far to me at least) however that leaves you helpless against the next tank, the changes in game I would like is more ammo for the M5, 5 shots for example, since this game does not go like usual military operations you cant use real world tactics against these tanks (usually ambushes or guerilla tactics where the tanks get taken out with different shots in either quick succession or over a few different ambushes where the tank takes enough damage that it becomes disabled) the added ammunition would be a great benefit for a player who might be the only one on their squad on the battlefield that uses the rocket launcher to take out tanks and especially due to the fact that there are multiple of them on the battlefield at once.

  • Hmm it should still feel like a team game even when they failed on so many things to make it a real one, but being a battlefield game (kind of) u need to have someone in ur squad with a ammo crate or a angel with a ammo drop to resupply the launcher.

So IMO a increase in ammo is the wrong way.

They need to rework the minimap, have the toggle big map so u can actually see who need resupply and therefore deliver it as support.

The problem is just something else buddy.

  • The problem is the removal of the class based system causing so many people to become lone wolves even when in a squad.

It's like mentioned before, you need someone to give you and ammo box, to work as a team as an infantry unit to take down some like a tank. Yet the lack of team play is down to the specialist not being very team orientated.

I mean i make use of Angel when i play with my buddies.
In general we make use of the stuff specialist got to offer. U can really teamwork with them.

But yea in terms of randoms being able to play whatever they want it killed squadplay.

Beside the fact the current squad system is kinda awkweird (u know the comms, the orders, the lack of points for squad work, the fact u cant create/leave a squad)

@Crashdummy716 Specialist have nothing to do with lack of teamwork. Anyone that wants to be a team player can. You don't see many people taking ammo? You can fill that role and be a team player! The specialist special abilities even give more options for team play than previous BF games (wingsuit with a deploy beacon, placing cover shields, spotting with drone, hacking vehicles, etc. Are there less people taking ammo because they want another gadget? Yes, but that has nothing to do with the game not allowing teamwork. It is people choosing not to be team players and take ammo even if it would be best for the team.

@master_daffy83 Of course you can play as a squad member using any specialist and select the ammo box, med box, but people don't. 9/10 out of ten they will run what benefits them now because they have that option which has thrown team play down the shoot. Classes pushed people to play a specific role within the squad and even the team specialist don't really promote team play u less you promote it yourself.
