So today was the first day I actually decided to play Portal mode. I played Rush, no cross play, on it and I will tell you the gameplay was much smoother and better than playing the standard conquest mode. Every time I have played conquest mode game feels choppy and still having hit reg issues, but not in Portal mode, great experiences and less WTF moments. Don't know if it is different servers, less stress, smaller maps, but I think until they get the standard conquest mode fixed I am just going to keep playing Portal.
Only thing that sucks is the lack of progression, but I am ok with that right now, I rather have enjoyable gameplay.
Curious on what others have experienced.
Portal is seriously fun. It's the love letter to the fanbase, found folded between two pages in a years-unread trashy pulp novel you find in a second hand shop. I've really enjoyed coming back to classic maps and guns and finding that I was always right about the AN-94 - it's an amazing weapon.

@VBALL_MVPYeah they need to do some serious optimization on the netcode and add higher tickrate servers for AOW.
Not sure what the current servers are, but my guess would be below 30.
I'm not sure the problem with hit registration is the tickrate. It's the fundamentally CPU-intensive nature of 128 player servers. Having looked into the topic, there's a reason for the seemingly wonky minimum CPU specs on PC. The client uses 8 worker threads. On 8-core CPUs with high IPC counts, the experience is a lot better. Even the 5600X (6C-12T), performs significantly better than 8C-16T chips from previous generations. The game basically maxes out my CPU - an overclocked Ryzen 5 3600. This in and of itself causes hitreg problems, as networking is fundamentally CPU-limited.
Well if it is putting a toll on your computer I can't imagine what it is doing to my PS5.
