BF 2042 and Flight Controllers...

In previous Battlefield Games the use of Flight Controllers/Joystick has been integrated into the Settings Menu which was a great tool to aid in Aerial Combat.  In past BF Versions the Gamepad Controller for console replaced the Flight Controller/Joystick settings. Question:  Will the Air Settings be for FC/Joystick or for Gamepad be integrated in the Settings?   Both would be optimal as the choice will heighten gameplay and as this is a Cross Gen Title.

The Community should weigh in here as this feature is important for Aerial vehicles...

  • @carsono311True, I like the community can only have the Highest of hopes!  I look forward to seeing you on the Battlefield very soon I hope...

@p4m8fidw9m8sWell, the patch let me remap the bindings on a Thrustmaster 16000M FCS and a Microsoft Force Feedback 2. It could only see 'one' joystick device and would ignore others, so you couldn't have more than one plugged in.

But Battlefield 2042 can't see expensive VKB joysticks as joysticks.

So I tried using HidHide to hide the twin VKB joysticks and Vjoy via Joystick Gremlin to emulate a single combined joystick. However this didn't work either - Battlefield can't see the vjoy device.

Instead it's seeing the joystick as a controller, it turns out, and it can only see the one, not the pair.  And only some buttons and axis, but not others. And somehow it can see 'through' hidhide AND chooses to ignore vjoy!! WTF.

I'm so sad to watch Battlefield fall apart. It used to be my nearly every evening, and our friday night with mates.

Still can't play with more than three mates.

    So sad for this game.

They wont because they are terrified that it will give PC users an advantage not available to console users...

    MEANWHILE ...

All Console users get a Free company sponsored aimbot.

@Microblitz There is no advantage for PC when it comes to flight controls using a joystick vs a controller because controllers have analog sticks and analog triggers. Also, similar HOTAS bundles from Logitech and Thrustmaster are available for Playstation and Xbox. So PC players don't have access to anything the console players don't. There is no advantage.

EA just dropping the ball for PC players where it's hard to fly with a mouse and you have no granular control of the throttle. It's either ON or Off.

Go back and actually read what was wrote. for brevity Ill provide it here "

    MEANWHILE ...

All Console users get a Free company sponsored aimbot."

It's called "Aim assist" which is not available to pc users. From what I've seen it guarantees a headshot most of the time.

    You're welcome.

  • @Microblitz True about that, but they also have to be really good with controller to maneuver and turn around. I could never play good with controller, even with aim assist. I dont see it as a problem against console players. I usually own console players except really high ranked ones above S 100, 200 +. Those can be abit tough.
