Before trying any of the following: back up your stuff. Also in between updates restart your system. Lots of computer experts say you don't need to but reset clears memory / cache / forces windows to starting point, etc.
- Windows updates
- System updates / firmware, BIOS / UEFI. SSD firmware, (like if you have Alien ware or dell, get those updates next, this will take care of motherboard drivers also),
- Check if SSD make and model has known issues with secure boot (BF 6 and 2042 likes secure boot on), sometimes hard to find as some manufacturers or Microsoft won't admit to this . . . but sites or Windows Central or bleeping computer forums may have some info.
- ALso fully uninstall / reinstall the game (like steam will do a "soft uninstall, leaving trace items". Revo uninstall can check or you can ask someone versed in checking windows registry (caution, if you nothing, jon snow or little exp in win registry, don't mess with it cuz you can brick your system).
- Also if you use an image transfer from your old SSD to new SSD, this might cause this issue (in this case back up data and figure out all your windows settings and do a fresh install of windows). Yea you can take win even from one pc to another pc that's diff hardware and windows will install all drivers and boot like normal, but there will be issues.
Maybe try updating SSD firmware (although back it up first) and also update your BIOS / UEFI drivers (update your stuff).
If you can't get it to work, put your old SSD back and play 2042 and put the new one back when you're done with the battle pass or BF 6 comes out. YEah I know the new one is prob faster but using a slow one that works is better than a faster one that doesn't.
Rare case if you bought a no name brand (or SSD for non AMD / Intel systems like ones used in apple desktops or laptops / ARM chipsets), Windows 10 / 11 secure boot may hate it so you're stuck but you can prob return it and buy known good brand like Samsung, WD, Toshiba, Sony, SanDisk, COrsair etc . At my work we order Dells and ALienware by the 100's and sometimes (like 4 out of 100 machines) we get ones with lemon / no Windows installed or we can't drop images on them, and find out the SSD are no name brands that are messed, but we warranty those.
