BF 2042 is BAD! WHY?!

Worst main battlefield ever.

And that's a shame. Because there are good approaches. The more free "class" option, for example, that you can choose your tools as you want. The maps are all different in terms of their basic theme, no 3 desert maps, etc. Portal naturally has the most potential. And an Escape from Tarkov at AAA level? Why not! The truth is, nothing works properly, despite the portal, the game has hardly any content and basic features are missing. The game was released 6-12 months early.

There are 2 game modes in 2042: Breakthrough and Conquest. The former can be completely forgotten. You can tell immediately that the cards are not designed for it. Put a point on the roof of a skyscraper? With 64 vs. 64 players? No fun. A purest cluster *. It's worse than Operation Metro. Conquest itself has its moments. If you defend a position for a long time it can be fun. But the problem is: on many maps, the walking paths are far too far and the area far too flat. Result: You are constantly being shot at from everywhere or, alternatively, run over by the filthy hovercraft. The biggest threat in the game is not the guns, but getting run over. Wow! The cards themselves have also been designed to be quite lazy. On almost every map you can find mountains of containers, Manifest is basically just a pure container map. What is the characteristic of containers? You are indestructible. The entire destruction engine took at least 3 steps backwards. We were promised "Next-Gen-Destruction", we got a destruction on a higher PS2 level.

Then the big single-player replacement: bots. Do you still know cyberpunk, the AI? Did you think it was bad? Then first play against bots. They prefer to fight 2 meters from the flag than in the capture area. Do not use air artillery. Don't respond to commands. Have no skills either. The own team reacts extra stupidly, instead of respawning, they prefer to wait to be revived by a medi (who does not come). If you get the idea to get BF2042 just because of the bot matches: finger off. And who thinks the bots don't matter anyway: They also appear in multiplayer and especially in the portal.

Speaking of the portal: an idea is good. Dictionary lousy. First of all you have to be lucky that not all servers are occupied, otherwise you cannot start your own server. Second, there are so far more server corpses or farm servers than really creative ideas. Whether really good modes will be created remains to be seen. If the number of players drops quickly (which I believe) the mode will stay dead. In addition, 2 cards each for 1942, BC2 and BF3 are far too few. Conquest in 1942 on the same two maps that are still boring? Not so great. In addition, almost every progression in Portal has been "temporarily" deactivated.

Then the gunplay and the technical condition: performance is poor, there is no other way to describe it. At the same time, the overall graphic is maximally "nice". Would even call it uglier than Battlefield 5. The game is of course still buggy, not as bad as the beta, but bugs and game breaking bugs still occur. And then all the mistakes. Gunplay is broken, the vehicle controls are bad (2 Need for Speed Studios, Ghost Games and Criterion worked on it. Think about it), spawns bad, unbalanced as always. Then the game with 7 cards in 2042, a few weapons, ONE drone (the dog), a few vehicles and no watercraft has far too little content. There is no single player campaign, server browser, voice chat, etc.

I think that should be enough. It should be clear that the game is not worth 60 euros in this condition. Wait 6 months, see if the biggest problems have been resolved, then it will definitely be for 30 euros. That would be a fair price for this half-baked game.
