@PsubondDelay the whole game a year, good. Delay the season pass 6 months bad?
Whilst I am not pleased with this news as well, it seems that they are doing what the 'community' wants and concentrating on 'fixing the game' before further release.
How many threads/posts have there been saying "the game should have been delayed"?
How much they actually 'fix' remains to be seen.
The game go on stand by for a while....yes. release it when it's ready not release a partial game for early access. they way they did it is hurting the game because it is half baked and the people that would have stuck with it get bored and it will be hard to get them back. they should have called the beta an alpha and then delayed the game and had multiple betas through 2022 until a finished project is done and released october 2022
look at what they did with Halo. it wasn't ready so they didn't launch it even though the new system was launcing. Nintendo does this as well. they delay games until they are ready they aren't married to a release schedule
but *yay* a skin for a player i don't use, a handgun gun i don't use a knife for broken takedowns, a skin that i won't replace a T1 skin for and a skin for a vehicle i don't use.
to EA: don't p*** on me and tell me it's raining

I'm very curious how different countries consumer protection laws work in this situation. Clearly there's been a lot of deception in this release, and this big of a delay on releasing purchased material that clearly differs than what anyone was expecting makes me feel it would trigger some type of law for certain countries. I'm sure, at minimum, there will be some massive fines.

According to Google summer will begin on Tuesday, June 21. So we're probably looking at Season 1 starting in July? 8 months after launch?
I'm glad I rented this game for $15 on EA Play. At least DICE acknowledged the poor map design. Will there still be anyone playing 6 months from now when Season 1 comes out in July?See you on the next Battlefield. - chrilsc4 years agoNot applicable

The most worry part about the announcements is actually they're building everything on a Game Engine without any experience. Half of the engine features included in previous games do not exist in 2042 including destruction, advanced animation system (including what looks like a lack of Inverse Kinematics implementation), and a whole lot more.
It's going to be a absolute cluster * unless they nail it.

@Kyosji But to be honest, there was never any mention before the game launched as to when Season 1 would start, was there?

Kinda hard now to remove the, Remember they've already sold Gold and Ultimate edition with specialist skins and stuff.

don't start that crap. they announced March which also pissed people off because it was so far after launch. year one means FIRST YEAR. game releases in november and the clock starts ticking. if they release content quarterly and start 1 june, then two of the four (HALF) of the year one content will release in year two

I don’t mind the delay one bit if it means we’re in for some big changes leading the game *) in the right direction.
*) And the organization in DICE and EA too, if some people need “massaging” to come around to committing to a new vision for the game, a vision in sync with earlier games in the franchise (BF3, BF4, BF1)
