Yeah the problem is with the squad respawning mechanic, I don't understand why they can't tweak/fix this though.
One idea could be to have a squad respawn cooldown, have a 2 minute timer starting from the moment you spawn on a squad member so you cannot squad spawn again for 2 minutes if you die before then. They can spawn elsewhere if they want just not on a squad member to avoid endless squad spawn cycles. Sort of what its like for vehicles.
This would increase the importance of medics and improve gameplay. We should be relying on getting revived anyway and not just simply giving up and respawning straight back on your squad.
And if a squad has lots of medics and can keep each other alive, then that's just good teamwork and squad play and they should reap the reward of that.
There's other ways to, have stricter conditions, say if an enemy is within 20 meters you cannot squad spawn or implement squad leader rally points etc..
I think restricting the squad to 4 players is the worst way to balance this and they should really look at a way of implementing a way for us to have bigger squads and find a way so we can be able to play with groups of friends.

With so many players and specialists, 8 player squads would be ideal but it would mean players have a lot more potential spawn points which won't help gameplay at all. That size of squads would likely only feel good if they went back to squad leader only spawning and dice sweden are terrified of that.

Dice is it possible to give a response on this post? A lot of people kinda like bigger squads. But it's very unclear from a designer perspective why you go with the 4 player size squads? It would be Nice if the forum could find a solution for the problems you are facing with bigger squads...

IT's clear as to the downsides.
For one, balance. If you can field 8 person squads on a server you can wreak a lot more havoc on the balance of the server.
two, magical spawn pts. IF you see an enemy coming and blink your eye, the enemy suddenly might be 8 enemies. It already is a little magical but 8 gets even more magical.
You also have the possibility of having just over twice as many locations to spawn into ( up to 7 instead of 3.) For a game where you are supposed to work to push enemies back, and contain, not sure how you do that the easier/quicker it is for enemies to magically pile up at various spots.

Hi My name is Martin and I am a loyal BF player. I have a question regarding the number of players in a squad. In the current situation, it is only possible to be 4 in a squad in BF 2042. I'm in a clan and we wish there could be more in a squad. There will be a BF portal where you will be able to control how you want to "set up" the game yourself. My question is whether you can choose to increase the number of players in a squad in "portal mode" or if there is a maximum of 4 that apply? If it is not possible to increase the number of players in a squad, there is a strong desire to be able to do so in the future anyway in Portal Mode. Regards Martin Bodin
