Battlefield used to have bots available but they were turned OFF by default because nobody wants to play with them.
Server admins tried experimenting with turning them on in Battlefield before and it failed because people would just leave when they saw the bots.
It's what helped kill Red Orchestra 2. The over reliance on bots to populate servers. People got tired of all the server hopping trying to find humans.
I fully agree with you @Crackhead88. DICE is using bots as a Band-Aid to fix their crappy matchmaking system. I doubt BF2042 is going to have a server browser at all. They're probably going full matchmaking this time and their system is so crappy they need bots to keep the servers full.
- @ninjapenquinuk You say that now. Wait till you see the size of the maps. It'll be like playing a BF4 large map with just 20 or 30 players. Terrible.
- @Crackhead88 People said the same about Battlefront 2 when co-op arrived. A week or two later, people were complaining that it was too difficult to win co-op plus AI were landing head shots like an aim bot and melting heroes lol.
If the AI is at least as good as Battlefront 2, it will be fine for filling in servers until players join. Reduced XP, try Titanfall attrition
The Bots are going to add so much to the game.
We will be able to configure them for multiplayer games, coop games and solo games. That gives a lot flexibility.I could see using the AI soldiers to easily seed a server and then program it so the AI soldiers are retired when enough real players arrive.
And I could see playing against them solo as a fun and more laid back learning experience.
I could see playing coop against AI soldiers with friends for a strategic/tactical learning experience. You could have the bots set in a certain scenario and each time you fail, you can refine your tactics until you finally overcome them.
Please have an open mind. AI Bots are going to add a lot of capability to the game.
On SAA in Panzerstorm , I downed everything that flew .
In Hamada in the next round , NO ONE wanted to fly .
Bot Fliers likely wouldn't have such a good memory 😛

You are more then welcome to share that you dont like something but be constructive when doing so. Saying X is bad and throw your toys around is not the way.
