Breakthrough attacking on skyscrapers is impossible

The title says it all. Objectives shouldn’t be placed on top of a skyscraper with 50+ players camping the elevators, AA turrets, and dozens of Dozer players guarding entrances with shields. It’s been my 19th match on Orbital and Kalediscope and still have yet seen attackers win. It’s pretty much impossible to take with a team of casual players.

Breakthrough is my favorite game mode, but there’s clearly some balancing issues going on.

  • Yea I've had some rough matches as well.

For the first time in the franchine history I actually would like to see the mortar gadget added so the roof can be carpet bombed 🥳

(even though I know I'd hate that gadget the second I'd see a line of people sitting down spamming explosives lol)

  • Because they gave the defenders an indestructible "castle" and the attackers do not have the siege weapons to take the castle.

Edit: Also the fact that the defenders have infinite "supplies" while the attackers have limited supplies is the opposite of how armies are in a siege. If that was true in reality, then no fort would ever be taken.

Expecting the attackers to take over the skyscrapes with only elevators and wires as the way up is asinine.

I am theorizing that one could use the big flying transports to provide a place for the team to parachute from above, but thanks to the Nightbirds taking the same slot as the big transport, most people will take the Nightbird and leave the team without any transports.

So we need to have either more transports for the attackers, or to give an air superiority to the attackers or to introduce some Cruise missile/artillery strike that can be occasionally be used to clean up camped skyscraper tops.

As the one above me said, the lack of proper indirect fire capability is a problem

  • @GomezofSolace Yeah that is a major issue.

Once you get to the last objective, defending gets way to easy. Anyone trying to reach the top floor will be met by 64 enemies all pre-aiming the elevator door.

Trying to land a heli or parachute in isn't much better because again, there's 64 enemies just sitting there waiting.
  • @GomezofSolace The game has major balancing issues. From guns to just the map itself. DICE didn't really think about how the gameplay was going to be... Such a high-potential game going down the gutter before it could even launch.
