Bring back the Good old days

Hi Everyone, I've been a long-time supporter of the Battlefield franchise for almost 2 decades, This release is by far the worst release and features really not to old-time standards, Here a bit of a background where i come from, I was an alpha and beta tester for many years for the battlefield community starting from Battlefield 2 to Battlefield 4 and the minutes they came out of the usual stuff this is where they lost.

I remember the days when we use to have these competition on TWL,esport and Euro domination 5 vs 5 ( just to name a couple) and control over our servers and much more to support the community base out there now it just really downhill, That they say it toxic, that were they have lost touch with the core base player by not supporting tags and leaving it to 4 that could join the the same place, this is not a call of duty game, where i use to play a lot back in the day until they ditch the pc world, taking away server, etc...

Dice/battlefield you need to bring back your core value before you lose your core base player

  • Agree, old days are not necessarily better, but in this case its true.

I also miss the time when we had rental servers and a community of clans.

    BF has become anonymous.

  • @Defit77QcI agree 100% but im starting to lose hope for BF. I honestly dont think well ever get another "good" BF. EA went woke, the new devs and management just dont have the "vision" of what made BF, BF.

BTW, I dont mean to be so brutal.

  • @Defit77Qc The older battlefield games were created by other devs that have left DICE long ago.
A game is very much the people behind it. Just like how a move is very much the director and actors.
The devs that created previous Battlefield games have for a long time not been at DICE, they are now at other studios. The DICE you knew is therefore no longer. Current DICE can be considered to be a new and different studio, only the name is the same.
DICE now seem to float on other talents success, but it shows that they aren't the same studio as before. This is my impression after putting together info I have heard the last few years.
If you're looking for a new good game, chase the previous DICE talent, they are many now at Embark Studios. They are making two games. "ARC Raiders" is one of them.

They could have just built on what they had, maybe add the gadgets into classes and focus on delivering that BF-experience with all the details, great realistic animations, destruction beyond what any other game can offer alongside the so-called legacy features and it would have been a great BF-game.

Now its just a mediocre buggy game that tries to be more like COD and have a model like APEX/Fortnite to rake in money but in doing so, they alienated way too many players. Not to mention the completely missing roadmap on content or any headsup or discussion on what could possibly put this game back on track...

A scoreboard, after 3 months? Not even a completed one, no, a Phase 1 scoreboard...

I'm just too tired and depressed about what this game is and my faith in them fixing it, is going down the drain. I sure hope EA liked me giving them money I could have burned because after this disaster, it's the last they will be getting from me.

If they want to bring back the good old days they have to get rid of this new area of "weakness" and lets us have a Global chat. I think i should've known from the start that this was a bad sign. The latest scoreboard has no deaths. Dice want a everyone to be a winners game. I recall a tweet from a dev to me in 2011, i complaint that i die a lot. He replied "Yes, in the beginning you will die a lot.". In 2042 you feel isolated. Cant chat with the opposite team, no feeling of real competition. God forbit id tell the guy who sniped me 5 times in a row to ...... . Dice basically cancelled Battlefield. Whatever 2042 is, its not BF and it will never be. They should realize their mistakes and move on. We all should...

@Daeyon-be Same. Tired is the word. Tired of begging for a simple basic core element that was in all of its past games. If you would have told me that 3 years ago, id laugh at you and say "no way" yet here we are. After 3 months, dice now presenting these elements as new "features" and they even can't get THAT right.
  • There is only one word i can say: Battlelog

Battlelog showed with how much love for details and passion games was made. There was statistics for everything.

  • @k1u73 are you saying i am old? 🙂 I am not saying refreshing the game is not good, New content like they did between the version  of BF2 TO BF 2142, even when they brought new mods like Rush, team deathmatch, etc that was exciting but they were pulling away from the core base by not having smaller maps for competition like BFBC2, BF3 and BF4 but they were still battlefield then and manage running team deathmatch in the League that I was Admin back then and now it really not Battlefield it a decent FPS game just not what I was looking for in Battlefield series.

@Defit77QcHa! So am I but sadly the TWL STA and UGC has long since gone. That’s what gaming in general wanted imo.
I often use TFC to TF2 as a comparison as to old is out and new is in.
Hardware manufacturers want more code so they can build and sale the latest.
Same old song and and dance all these RTX 30xx owners expecting to get 100+ fps on the any game released afterwards is not the real game the industry plays.
They want you to go buy the 40** series…doh!
My self enjoy this game and get 80 fps on my RTX 2070 Super on medium. I have desire to watch ballon’s and debris flying across the map.
