Presumabley, the platoon feature is on a list of things to add?
Was it something they had on a list of "be nice to have" but get the core product out the door first? Remembering the devs worked through the pandemic, I think they had to double down on what essentials they had to get right. Gunplay, Multiplayer backend, scalability and the re-invention of the chat, statistics system (combating toxicity).
We all know we are in for alot of new and upgraded content in the next few years. Let's roll with it and see.

Oh 100%. The concern is they haven't said a single thing. We as in V they always said it was a feature coming. But they aren't answering any questions on platoons. Platoons in the mean time suffer but so do those new to the franchise. No where in game for them to find anyone to play with. Even end of round they get yanked out a squad they may well have wanted to continue to play with.
