Agreed, have played all the battlefield games with a large group of friends in separate squads on the same server, sometimes the same team, sometimes not for some friendly rivalry. The biggest downer for us in 2042 is the inability to play with more than 4 friends together, even if you do magically get put in the same server you will be torn apart by random matchmaking at the end. Why remove one of battlefields core elements?
Now if any of us sees 4 people in our discord we don't bother going to play because we will be left out, does that sound like what you intended DICE?
Quick easy fix for now would be to have official 2042 servers on portal with all progression enabled.
I expected platoons to be really watered down, but the fact there none, at all is a really really bizarre thing, the social aspect has always been a strong point of the battlefield franchise.

Same been playing since early 2000's with 8 people two squads. Well thats done what a waste of $100.00.
