@SharpGoblinA buff for rocket launchers, giving all of them +1 rocket, is coming. This was mentioned in the 7.0.0 patch notes, near the bottom.
"As such, in an upcoming update we’ll be increasing the available RPG, Recoilless and all other era-equivalents by 1."

I, personally, want to know why it wasn't immediately in 7.0, but oh well...My 2 cents, the M5 needs 2 more rockets, not 1, and it needs a small speed boost. As it stands right now, the RPG is just a flat out upgrade.
- MADMAC50K2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Lady_One one more rocket is still pretty useless against unlimited flares, APS, etc. Made almost zero difference to air domination since Crawford got the same uplift last season. It just makes the time you run out of ammo longer. It's not the number of rockets that's the issue, it's the infinite defence systems on vehicles and helos, and the low damage each rocket does. Used to be pretty good when Rao could disable flares/APS and carry rockets. Then the pilots cried and DICE nerfed it shortly afterwards. Since then total air domination, but I guess that's what DICE wants...
- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@SharpGoblin I was chasing a MAV with a SRAW yesterday. Had an ammo box and everything. I could not get it below 25% health between slow ammo box reload speeds, reload animations & damage versus auto heal. It was driven by bots too, so wasn’t being repaired and I don’t think they pop repairs either. I simply could not whittle it down, and it takes more than one shooter to drop the big heavies. As much as I’d wanted to splash it, it makes some sense I couldn’t otherwise why would anyone want to drive a paper tiger?

@ATFGunr The only "vehicle" I managed to kill with the SRAW so far is a Casper drone.

@SharpGoblin So you’re saying you find the worst pilot ever? 😂 That’s a hard target to hit even stationary with the crosshair right over it! Nice shot regardless. Recons take 2 hits but at least you get that much ammo. I’m also not above “stealing” a kill, nothing like getting the last hit on a vehicle being shot by others lol!

The ground vehicles are fine.
It is the flying UFOs ...eh... Nightbirds that are a menace if the pilot is not a blueberry who should have stayed in the ground.
That does not discount the fact that SRAW is awful as I mentioned in my recent thread

@MADMAC50KMy opinion on air is a completely different weapon is needed, the situation is too broken for tweaking flare duration, rocket count and damage to result in sane gameplay. Let's be honest here, the FXM is a medium-range (~300-400m) launcher that's not very good at medium range. Most kills air gets are at close (~50-200m) range. You will die before you even get a lock if the helicopter is shooting at you.
Either either DICE needs to introduce a passive radar launcher that can hit a <150m aircraft before it can react and flare, or a fast lockon launcher that ignores flares at <~150m, or the NTW-50 needs buffs and maybe to be useable in the engineer's gadget slot as it's also a close-range AA weapon. They're not introducing a new AA launcher by the looks of it... So change some NTW-50 numbers? My post on that still stands.Or prevent helicopters from going OOB on most maps.
This won't solve jets sadly, having played with jets myself only confirmed my suspicions that they're basically unkillable by infantry unless you luck out with an RPG shot on an overly aggressive pilot. I think removing jets' repair thing, reducing the speed of HP regen, and maybe reducing the damage they take from other air / the wildcat might be a step in the right direction, so if they get damaged the damage sticks for longer and they either need to time out for a LONG time, or they need to keep soaking damage until they die.
