C5 is perfect the way it is. Its hard enough to get close to vehicles just to deploy c5 properly in these massive wide open maps. The last thing c5 needs is a nerf. Dice just needs to fix the c5 drone move. C5 shouldn't be able to stick to drones
You're not doing it right then. The amount of parachuting out of helicopters from half way around the map and deploying it on top of me is insane. Another feature exasperating this is how long it takes players to get back in a tank. If I die I usually have to wait another 5 minutes before a tank becomes available to me because of the "vehicle spawn timer" all in all, it is going to be an unenjoyable grind for tanks, and they were already less powerful in bf1 and bfv compared to bf3 and bf4.

Do you all see people using this C5 drone technique a lot? I haven't seen it myself, or at least I haven't noticed. I can see it being a little more overpowered for a mode like Hazard Zone since lives are limited.
- 4 years ago@EA_Blueberry i have been using it alot also saw some teammates use it it is op currently in 1 game i destroy like 12 tanks with it from distance they cant hear or see me if i would play as a tank i would be mad

It happens in every single Breakthrough game.
I play Breakthrough 99% of the time, the remaining 1% was the first day of the early access where I tried conquest and portal.
In Breakthrough, imagine those maps, the moment you start off, all the Caspers are loading their drones with C5. Its just a spam fest.
Literally any tank that is trying to help the team to clear off enemies get droned down by C5.
The real problem here is, it breaks the Breakthrough game mode by preventing land vehicles from playing the objective.
Also, very importantly, please see that C5 + Drone IS NOT THE SAME as Quad Bike + C4 (BF4).
In BF4, when you load your quad or jeep with C4, and try to flank a tank, the tank has a chance to actually shoot it down. And when it does, the player dies too.
And if the tank fails, the player gets a tank kill, XP and possibly multi-kills. This in my opinion, is fair. Its equal chance for both and fun!
But in BF 2042, Drone + C5 is totally unfair. When Casper loads his drone with C5 and if it happens to get shot down, the drone gets destroyed and that's all. Casper is happily resupplying to re-do it again. But if the drone hits the tank, he gets all the XP, tank kill and multi-kills.
In Breakthrough, the map area is much smaller. AA chases helis way past the spawn. Drones literally kill off any land vehicle trying to play the objective.
In terms of vehicle gameplay in Breakthrough, its getting really impossible. There is no use of repair, the moment u get off to repair, u'll be dead in a few seconds because of drones.
I love Battlefield 2042, I feel its an awesome game and will continue to play this game, just wish this drone + C5 would be fixed. There is a jeep, players can still use that to C5 + Jeep. Right now, the Drone + C5 is just way too good because there is absolutely no consequence if you fail to hit the target.

I couldn't agree more. C5 Drones are absolute BS for any vehilce driver. And anyone defending it, is just denying the fact that its unbalanced.
I saw people mentioning that you need two people to control the drone. One to call the explosion and one to fly the drone. This information is WRONG WRONG WRONG.
You can just put on C5 on the drone by yourself, and fly it into a tank. You don't even need to trigger it. The drone just has to ram the tank and it causes the explosion.
It is the biggest BS ever seen and it allows no hand players to actually be rewarded for something that is just plainly braindead.
When I look at BF4's C4 Jeeps, these were fine. You could SEE them and actually SHOOT them. The driver of the Jeep had to be smart and use his brain to find a flank on the tank.
There I won't complain as its 100% my fault that I just died there. I could have looked around and tried to take the Jeep out as it offers enough area to shoot at.
While the drone on the other hand DOESN'T. You can barely see it, especially in the middle of battle. It is quite mobile which makes it difficult to hit and it can approach from an impossible angle in which neither the driver or the gunner can actually shoot the drone.
Even if a tank is camping on a mountain, you can still shoot it with rockets, SOFLAM lock-on, etc., etc. in which the driver can at least react.
Don't tell me that it is balanced or requires skill. I literally sat down on a corner on renewal and bombed 9 tanks away by just simply ramming the drones into the tanks.
If it was the LATV/Jeep of BF2042 I would not complain as there again just like in BF4, the driver has to be smart + I have enough area to shoot at.
At the moment, each time I drive a tank, I have to constantly look around and move around for the drones and even then sometimes they just outmaneuver you and kill you anyways. SO that isn't a guarantee. I jump out of the tank to shoot the drone with my AR and voila I got headshot and my tank is now empty.
Then there is comments that I should just 50 cal the drones from a far. My guy, Im driving a tank. I want to be in the heat of battle. I want to be able to react on enemy projectiles and infantry and not a minimalistic small drones that I can barely see. I won't stand 50 miles behind my team to snipe down drones.
They just should simply remove the ability to stick C5 to the drone or limit the amount of C5 the drone can carry.
- 4 years ago@EA_Blueberry As others have said, fairly common in breakthrough (and frankly, very effective) for dealing with vehicle snipers or infantry blobs.
I haven't seen it much in conquest, though i think that's due to the speed of the drone and the amount of terrain to cover/drone going out of range, easier to deploy effectively with a bottlenecked map and lots of troop concentrations.
If a vehicle is moving it's a lot harder unless you have people working in pairs with comms (one flying the drone, one placing and detonating the C5).
With the guy flying calling the detonation without needing to disconnect from the drone/pull out the detonator, it's a pretty evil combo.
In the case of the latter it's obviously effective against just about anything that can't move faster than the drone, you've essentially got a tow on steroids you can fire from complete safety of cover with no uncontrolled forward momentum to worry about.- 4 years ago
tbh i find it very easy to destroy a tank with a c5 drone even if its moving i mostly use it on tanks that are in between me and the objective everytime i spawn he kills me so i suicide drone them
