can't control recoil bf2042

Hi there! I'm new to BF2042 and got an recoil control issue. I play on PS4 and can't move right stick down(to control recoil) while aiming or shooting on enemy. it's just going all the way up above enemy and i can't move it down

  • Yeah, I get this also. Just feels wrong. Don't know how to fix though, it's probably a combination of setting I have set wrong, like ADS setting or something.

  • @Jaguar1287 I get this on PC too. It's seems baked into the game, so it's not you. I realized last night the ACW with a 4 power scope is prone to it, so I'm guessing it's certain weapons with certain scopes. Try changing scopes / optics. I agree with Sk1lld that it's related to aiming down sight.

There’s a lot of variables. What gun? What FOV do you use? What sight and zoom are you using?

With a smaller FOV you can get away with using a sight with lower zoom. If you try using something like 4x on a full auto assault rifle it’s going to be very hard to control. Now if you use that setup with a higher FOV it’ll feel a lot more manageable.

Some guns have a lot higher recoil than others. I tend to stick to ones that have lower because I play with low sensitivity. I honestly think FPS games need to get over recoil and focus only bloom/spread instead, but that’s probably not a very popular take especially here.

To sum it up, use sights with lower zoom. Try raising your FOV and then using something with more zoom. There’s also ADS zoom setting in game. With it On ADS will be relative to your FOV. Set to Off and it’ll zoom in more using the default FOV when ADS.

I feel like the game isn’t consistent though. Sometimes it’s super easy to control recoil, while other times I feel myself consciously moving my arm way down trying to tame the recoil.

  • It's all good you just need practice. Start shooting at the lower body and in bursts instead of continuous shooting if you're using an SMG for example. Controlling the recoil is challenging and part of the fun. This is why i could not stand COD 10 years ago. Did that change these days in COD? Also work on getting better attachments. Recoil becomes less of an issue.

Changing your FOV and scopes can help tremendously. I've found there to be way less kick using the standard loadouts as well - you may not be doing max damager per bullet, but I like to feel I'm connecting way more with each one.
