As others pointed out, cheating happens all the time and everywhere. Thing is, most people still call it hacking which is giving doing it more props then it deserves. It is cheating. And I do get testing your machine. I do get why you want an easy night and brutalize a server. But you should do I it. You shouldn't want to do it. People do not realize it but these games a l that's left. Music and motion pictures are dead already. If people do not stop stealing and cheating, this last frontier might die for real.
And this is my point. We've all been focusing on technical solutions for cheating. But what the community needs is an actieve conversation about ethics. Even when you can cheat, you shouldn't. This might mean you should be able to harvest XP a bit faster, creating an incentive to stay legit. This might mean we have to make it a bit easier to reach a decent level with decent load out. Focus the narrative towards skill. Skill in games like these offer valuable real world lessons. It teaches you to take cover, to be vigilant, and to be strategic. It trains eye-hand coordination. We should hold these skills high. Reward them. You should be able to win from a high end console gamer with a low end pc purely on skills. You still are able to do that. That's what is all about.
What I'm trying to say is that of we want to preserve our community games we have to accept the people that are cheating. But we need to be better ourselves. Hold true skills as highest merit. Not the k/d ratio, not the level someone is. No no. Something you can't even quantify is the most desired. Teamplay. Good sportsmanship. Strategic insight and a relentless drive to teach and develope skills. Then the cheating will go away on its own. I know some find this hard t believe. But it is true. I have fought and defeated cheaters, lots of them actually. That's when you know, and they now, nothing they can think of will actually beat a good working team. Mostly that's the point servers get pulled haha. But hey, that's worth it.
