Stick aiming could definitely be improved a bit in 2042 but its by far not the worst of any FPS ive played. I have mine quite decent finally and probably average about 1.5 K/D on Crossplay for PS5 (give or take on the weapon im using). Its definitely not to BFV standards but its better than what it was at launch.
But hell, a game with much worse aiming was Deathloop which had very janky aiming and players abused "snap" aim assist to accommodate the iffy aim controls. And honestly, I hate snap aim assist as its the most abusive of all aim bots--nothing like instant snap to an enemies head when you aim down sights lol. I wished Aim Assist was nonexistent but understandably, a vast majority of players need it (whether they realize it or not) for joystick aiming. I still use it to some extent to offer some slow down effects when on hitboxes, though depends on the game. 2042, I have it at 20 (out of 100) cuz I did have issues with it being inconsistent and throwing my aim off when above 50. 20 seemed to offer very minimal slow down which after all my sensitivity changes, worked fine. Aim Snap is at 0 because again, I hate it lol. Especially in a game where i want as much control of my aim as possible with no help from a bot.
In the end, implementing decent Gyro Aim completely solves the issue with Aim Assist (which gets shut off when Gyro is used) and most of the janky aim mechanics for stick aiming (accelerations, deadzones, etc). I just wished devs would finally implement this with the same decent adjustable settings we have now. Would be able to keep up with Mouse and Keyboard much easier, has tremendously better feedback like a mouse, yet can still play from my couch or bed with a controller without needing a desk.
