Forum Discussion
I know you'd like to see more of what's planned, and I can clarify that what we've shared today is only specific to the topic of Maps. There's more we are working on, but that's not a discussion for today. We'll follow-up in April with a similar discussion on Specialists, so looking forward to your feedback on that as well.
I'm sorry, but this glacial pace isn't going to work.
Please, if you would, pass on to the relevant people the notion that Dice ought to be upping the sense of urgency.
The player base isn't just decimated, its pretty close to collapse. We've waited months, for some changes to one map, and a bit of tweaking of vehicle behavior.
We will be waiting weeks more before you'll invite comments on specialists, despite there being thousands of words already written about them. And then maybe a month or more after that before anything concrete emerges.
And there's still no word about if, or when, Dice will address the oft requested server browser.
There are a myriad of missing core features that still need addressing. And working on one map at a time for months is just too slow.
Dice must speed up.
Shame, imagine how much credibility DICE could win back going "all-in" on 2042 and delaying the next BF so they could deliver on their promises to fans with 2042. Would set them up for more success with the next BF title, but I guess DICE is still struggling to learn a lot of basic lessons.
Because I still don't believe the "we've learned out lesson" garbage. They're showing absolutely no evidence of that.

@TAW_RinkoSure seems like the reports of them moving the majority of the team to the next BF and left a skeleton crew on 2042 are more and more accurate.

Because I still don't believe the "we've learned out lesson" garbage. They're showing absolutely no evidence of that.Things are happening so slowly its far too easy to believe that dice have not assigned anything like an adequate number of people to fix 2042. I get that its an industry standard to move a lot of your team on, but you'd think that the unmitigated disaster of 2042s collapsing player base might have got their attention enough to think they may have miscalculated.
As to any alleged incidents of lesson learning, again its hard to see any evidence of that.
And, as to credibility. I'm sorry to say that, as things stand, Dices word has no weight. I'm afraid they have forfeited any right to be believed or trusted. Only actions matter now, and a splashy page bragging about the new improved feedback loop added to the forum drop down is not what's required.

Well, I'm all in favor of the map changes, should make a difference...
... but this isn't coming anytime soon and should've been done 2 or 3 months ago..
Also, adding another vehicle will impact performance too much? Isn't Frostbite supposed to be this amazing scalable engine? What does this mean for future content? "We can't implement new vehicles because the engine/game can't handle it"? Eeeeeeehhhh, that's some stuff that should've been thought off when someone said live service & season passes...
Finally, we don't need a discussion about specialists just as much as we don't need or want the specialists in the first place. They add nothing to the BF formula, they even take things away being single-player centered characters in a team-based shooter. I sincerely hope your artists are drawing up some concept about regular soldiers and different skins instead of wasting time with these specialists with the charisma of a wet shoebox.
- 4 years ago@Daeyon-be I think it's more that some of the hardware can't handle it given everything else in the game. They're liking pushing the limits of console CPU's as-is, so adding more dynamic objects for CPU's to track likely isn't feasible until they make some room elsewhere.
The game is seemingly pretty demanding on CPU's already : /- GrizzGolf4 years agoSeasoned Ace
This game runs so smooth now after 4 on my PC. I can actually kill people with the mouse fix! I love it!
