I play on PS5 and I am just really struggling to enjoy Battlefield 2042 against and with PC players. Specifically speaking I am having a hard time dealing with people who play on keyboard and mouse. I am struggling so much against all these players that are jumping, crouch spamming, and getting consistent headshots on me. I really miss the way a console only battlefield felt. Everyone was using a controller and crouching repeatedly or jumping a lot while accurately shooting was much less common. Now so many PC players I am playing against are doing it and I just do not know what to do. If I turn off cross play the game just says looking for 31 other players. I really wish PC was not included in cross play. Or maybe cross play should only be with others using the same input device, mouse and keyboard play with other mouse and keyboard users while all controller users play together.I wanna make a point. This is not about me doing poorly against PC players. I am just stating that the things PC players do to be competitive is annoying and unenjoyable to face as a console player. So the solution isn't "get gud". Maybe there is some kind of portal server that is populated with PS5 players only. Maybe there is some way to make sure I find matches with cross play off. I am searching for a way to only play with other controller users.

And most of the player I see on the Battlefield don't do that as well.Sometimes you come across a player that does 'wild' movements, but most of the time I'd consider this lag or something else netcode related and not intentional movements initiated by the player. The only benefit sliding around might bring is if you slide around corners where the enemy is expecting you and aims at your head while with sliding your head might be in a different/lower position so she would have to adjust aim and you land some bullets on her before she can do that.

There should be M/K support for console, that much is clear. But I guess if Dice were willing to bring that it would already be in as this is so obvious that this needs to be there.

I notice alot of the PC players hop around the board during the game and slide all over the place. If this game goes on Gamepass there will be more than enough PS5 and XBOX players to turn off crossplay with PC.

How can you tell if you see a player model that it is a PC player (me wonders)? Maybe those are Console player sliding.

As you already know each player has an icon on their profile when they kill you, etc. that shows which platform they are on. You get shown who killed you after your death and can therefore see what platform they are playing on.

@Dha_Primo_Beast What region are you from. I hear European ps5 players turn off crossplay and still find matches. Maybe you can use a VPN to play on Euro servers.

@DuaneDibbley Going across the map like this: crouch, slide, jump and then while in the air the player spins 360°. That is a PC player.

@Hezek1yah Yo, performance for this game was so bad and the population remains so small that I don't think anyone is actually making cheats for it. There's no money to be made creating a functional cheat for 2042 with only a few thousand players playing on PC.

PC player might have better aim control, yet you can move just like a PC player if you have a paddle controller using higher sensitivity. I really don't notice the PC players as and issue at all to be honest, using a paddle controller...
The only real issue I have with PC is the ease of playing with aimbots and other cheats, so it kind of defeats the purpose of playing console to get away from cheaters.
The other nice part of playing with console only is the fact you know it comes down to skill and sometimes slightly better connection quality as you are running the exact same hardware at the exact same frames per second. When you add PCs with console players, now you are competing with players with 100 plus frames per second, with the consoles stuck at 60 frames per second (or less as my Series X dumps to low 40s on Hourglass map constantly), and yes the pros run 200fps on $1500-$2000 graphic cards for a reason as they would get thrashed running 60fps.
Nobody seems to every talk about the advantage of an extra 100fps...instead the focus is mouse vs keyboard, yet look how many APex players are switching to controller on PC as there are some advantages, yet perhaps not so much with BF 2042 as the aim assist is trash to say the least, versus the aim assist in Apex.
