Cross-play, cross-progression and cross-commerce is confirmed for Battlefield 2042 🔥
- PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®5 consoles (PC and console can opt-out from playing together)
- Xbox One and PlayStation®4 systems.

Yup, DICE pushed the summer playtest back due to crossplay not being ready to test yet. But I was happy to read this

Since crossplay can be opted-out, now I'm not sure if I should buy a PlayStation 5 or Xbox SX. I might just have to buy them both at the same time and test out which one has better mouse support.
That's if DICE ever gets around to announcing mouse support, which seems like a sure thing since crossplay has been announced.

- @PacNbowls Yes, so they pushed the Playtest for this summer as they want to test the crossplay factuality with more players outside DICE.
Confirmation:
- Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be able to play with each other.
- Players on PC and Next Gen Consoles (Xbox X/S and PS5) exist in a second state of cross-play, and won't cross over.
- Opt out of cross-play, and you'll play only with players on the same platform.
No matter your Battlefield 2042 version.Greets,

Awaiting the complaints from console users when they get lazed constantly from the other side of the map and wall users knowing your exact position all the time!

@emerson1975 because many of us have friends on multiple platforms and there's no harm if crossplay is voluntary/opt in. From moderating the Battlefield forums for years I swear that console players were constantly whining about "cronus max and zim users" so how is console a level playing field when for years the console players claimed that it wasn't?
