I played about 8 hours of it in the last week to give it a shot. (I only played their Attack/Defend mode, no extraction shooters for me)
Positives:
- Gun customization was nice
-- With a big selection, but I didn't have the time to go through and really try out a bunch of them to compare/contrast.
- Graphics were alright [but not great]
- Got into matches fairly quickly
- The few maps were okay, but nothing spectacular
- Specialist characters were unique, but I didn't see anything game-breaking like a squirrel-suit, one-shot shield, grappling hook, etc.
Negatives:
- The game is a port of their mobile game, and it shows. The amount of 'dailies' and quests and the UI/Interface for them is very mobile-y (far too many screens to jump through to claim crap you did/completed)
- Bots all over the place, in ranked and unranked matches, and are entirely unmarked.
- The AI bots are both worthless and turn around and headshot you [similar to BF at times]
- Vehicles feel floaty and weird to pilot.
- Bullet travel time seems too long, not expecting lasers, but seems disconnected
- Movement/clambering over obstacles feel weird, but could be fixed with patches
- Virtually no real destruction
- Sound effects aren't great

People will love Delta Force now, however, once they play it enough, they will find issues with it.

@AnobixI think you are right and I agree with your positives and negatives.
But, the potential is there and it still feels a lot like playing BF. I even think it is more fun than 2042.
If they can polish the game and release some interesting content, this could keep a lot of BF-players busy, at least until Dice releases their next title. - OskooI_0072 years agoLegend
New Delta Force trailer shows improved destruction with whole buildings being destroyed.

@cso7777 "If they can polish the game and release some interesting content, this could keep a lot of BF-players busy, at least until Dice releases their next title"
Agreed, it would be nice to have something different, and hopefully with a lot more content than BF2042 has had. I find it offensive the little content we had map wise, they focussed a lot more on silly charm hanging things and bizarre uniforms, or should I say costumes that gave ZERO benefit to the game play.
Then there is the fact that they constantly mess about with the game and nerf this and buff that, even after all of this time with the game being out and this being the sixth game in the series, so you would like to think they know what they are doing by now, even though it's nothing like the previous ones really, so yes, I welcome something else. Especially with how the trailers for Delta Force Hawk Ops are showing the improvements and additional destruction, you know, the one BF calls Levolution! Either way there is more of it.
Oh, and regarding your point "at least until Dice releases their next title." I'll tell you this, they had better make it good, or they will lose so many people after this pathetic version.

I tried it. I kinda liked it. I want to see how stable the early access is
- cso77772 years agoSeasoned Ace
@GrizzGolfThe state of the game at the moment, is not worse than BF2042 was at launch.
A few adjustments and it will be better than 2042 (movement, sound and less AI).
If they keep their promises of no pay-to-win, then it comes down to the number of maps and the quality of map-design. The existing maps are one ok map (cqc/city) and one not so good (too open). - sk1lld2 years agoLegend
Any hints at how many maps there will be at start?

If nothing else, DF will make Dice work harder and deliver a more finished game and hopefully lots of maps. Just think about it: DF is a FREE game providing a similar experience to BF. Hope Dice can deliver something special with the next BF game, otherwise it will be impossible to beat FREE.
BF is the king of the genre bit lately they became the underdog. DICE: I am going to root for you to come out with a fantastic game next time, but you need to deliver MORE CONTENT. (MAPS!!!!!!)I play the 128 conquest mode and currently playing the same 7 maps all day. Sometimes i only play like 3 of them because the lack of servers with proper rotation. Also i have to play against superman PC players Next game has to have:
- lots of maps
- proper map rotation
- no crossplay please (another way to beat DF, lots of people don't want crossplay)
Fingers crossed.
