How about:
Guns could also become universal. But gadget should be class locked.

i really don't like that. we have next to no weapons already and you're going to limit us to specific weapons? no thanks. also no thanks to loss of freedom of gadget loadout
- Chief2GFD3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Spidder81 Yeah, taking 128 BT out of the game is a dumb move. There are people that bought the game strictly for the 128 player experience. But, I guess we can chalk it up to another boneheaded move by EA/Dice.

@Psubond @ I strongly disagree with making the gadgets open for everyone to use it makes the game a unbalanced chaotic mess with zero priority since everyone can equip every gadget and it will be hard to distinguish which player use a specific gadget especially if you're using a Tank
With specialists open gadget system, you know Angel has ammo
packs, Falck has healing stims, but then
you run into situations where you see a
Sundance, and have no idea what she has.
She has grenades, but grenades don't do
anything for *you*, Dozer has the shield,
but you don't know what his other gadget
could be. Could it be ammo? Maybe. Or it
could be C5. Which again, is not a team play
gadget.
These changes/class rework helped encourage teamplay a bit more than the specialists open gadget system do. When you saw a friendly Assault/Assault based specialist like Mackey, you knew that they had health packs and bandages. When you saw a support/Support Specialist Angel and Falck, you knew they had ammo. When you saw an enemy recon/Recon Specialist like Casper, you knew he had a sniper rifle and that he could pick you off at range. If you're driving
a tank and see an Engineer class/Engineer Specialist like Irish or Boris, you knew he/she had explosives to try to take you out. With the Specialist system, every characters can carry rockets, C5 or armor plate instead of being helpful in the team by carrying ammo box or med box since they can have the choice to become greedy since the game promotes it.
The open gadgets should be restrict based on the Specialist's Class while making the them equip any weapons they wanted it's a better comprised than letting everyone equip any gadget they wanted

Changes to our current maps are quite promising (Kaleidoscope, especially), and the FOB looks good too. Boris looks like he has a bit of a Tik Tok filter on but I gotta say, him and Mackay look so much better - Sound bites with Angel are a huge improvement too; really looking forward to specialists being more gritty/serious.
I'm a little bummed we're only getting one map but it's great to hear you're working towards adding modes to AOW 🙂 - A_Cool_Gorilla3 years agoSeasoned Traveler@UnKnOwn_1628042 I strongly disagree.
Class restrictions did nothing but punish solo players. And solo play still fits into teamplay. If they allowed for any gadget combination, then solo players could optimize their role as opposed to being hindered. Some players may want to go a medic / support hybrid, with revives and ammo. Or a player may want to go ammo + spawn beacon to enhance his supportive role with a forward base. Another may want to go repair + drone, to give intel to their tank.
Ultimately it's the gadgets themselves that create the roles. Some players will go for kills and ignore teamplay, and that has always been the case. Except here, the slayers can opt to go ammo + health, and as a consequence be dropping them all around the map. And those that do go for teamplay, can optimize their roles to better suit their team.
Squads meanwhile, would still be the optimal playstyle with a max utility of 8 gadgets, not to mention the advantage of communication and squad spawning.- Chief2GFD3 years agoSeasoned Ace@A_Cool_Gorilla Exactly! I typically go Medic/Ammo so I get revives/health restore and resupply.

better is a subjective term. the game has been out for over half of a year and you want to dictate to players that they must play in the manner you wish them to. i disagree that is "better" and i do not want that restriction put in place. how about you play with the loadout you want to play with and i'll play with the loadout i want to play with.

@Psubond I disagree with your opinion since Battlefield for so long is known as a team-oriented class-based shooter and the fact that the Specialist are put into classes yet they don't work as an actual class is a bad core gameplay, The gadgets are what defines the classes but in this game classes are meaningless since every player can equip any gadget they wanted and can cause the game to suffer from poor game readability and unbalanced chaotic mess that happening right now. You must be the minority thinking that the current system is okay even though it isn't, that's why DICE is working on to rework the Specialist and the majority wanted to turn Specialist into Classes by restricting the Specialist's 2nd gadgets based on the Specialist's Class because that's how the game should have been in the first place, each Specialist is categorized in the 4 standard main classes, Assault, Engineer, Reacon and Support. The only thing I agree with you is the weapon restrictions needs to go because in the past game every players just picked that classes because on a certain weapon that's why making the weapons free for anyone to while making the gadgets restricted based on the class the he/she picks is a good thing
