Please don't give into the ones that want a class structure from older games. I like the freedom we have now.

Hard disagree. Specialists are atrocious. Freedom to pick any weapon is good. Locking gadgets to a specific specialist is literally the opposite of freedom. Classes at least pushed players to take more useful things like medkits, ammo boxes, spawn beacons etc. rather than a wingsuit or grappling hook which only benefits one person.
- 3 years ago@MortalitasWolf Basically they need one lethal and one non lethal gadget. If they take C5 away from angel or the class with the ammo box, I will go play BC2, BF3, BF4 instead because at least those games would have infinite C4 for me, which is my "battlefield moments" maker
- 3 years ago@CantGetRight BF games have always been about class structure, its one of its staples of the Battlefield identity. I get that you like the freedom but its a minority that do.

@Spinner1981The class structure is outdated and needs to go away. When I play portal and the older BF games it feels so restrictive. If they bring back the class structure I am pretty sure it will lose more players as the ones that liked the freedom will not like the change and the ones that did want the class structure won't come back as it won't be enough.
- 3 years ago@CantGetRight It wont lose more players, as said earlier the classes is part of what makes Battlefield, its not dated and plenty of team objective games still use classes. Only BRs and the likes uses so much freedom in a loadout.
Only reason the classes werent in in the first place is because this started out as a BR game.
If this was a BF game from scratch, 1. we wouldnt have specialists, 2. there would be classes with specific gadgets and weapons, like every BF game before it.

it new days stop stay in old days then go play portal or bf4 we want this new system

@CantGetRight Wrong, Battlefield should and always has been a class-based team orientated shooter, if you don't like restricted gadgets and grenades then play Call of Duty, Battlefield has always features a Class System. Be grateful that you can still select any primary weapons you wanted.
- 3 years ago@CantGetRight Don't worry, fortunately Specialists aren't going away (they never were), and we're always gonna have complete freedom to use whatever weapons we choose thankfully (as it should be).
Certain gadgets and throwables will simply be locked to the four class sections that they're best suited for where the Specialists will be placed. Best of both worlds while still being fun. It's a balanced compromise - JUST LET RAO STILL HAVE AA STINGER, DEVS!!!
Haters need to stop crying now. - 3 years ago@CantGetRight How does 2042 have more freedom? You can pick more stuff but you have less slots and you have no control over the specialist ability/gadget combo. Old games you picked a class, primary from your class, and 2 gadgets to specialize within your class. Now you just pick a character and 1 gadget from a pool of anything, that's far more restrictive. I don't mind the use any primary in 2042 because there aren't enough weapons to class restrict them lmao.
- 3 years ago@CantGetRight Go play other games

But this is the opposite of what makes Battlefield...Battlefield. CoD does the free-form loadouts better anyways so any attempts by DICE to cater to that group will fail because they will gravitate towards CoD anyways. If you want to pick whatever you want, play CoD. If you want a more focused experience, with specific roles and teamplay, then you play Battlefield...well, you used to anyway.
- 3 years ago@Natetendo83 I disagree. Gadgets make Battlefield, Battlefield.
Strip away gadget restrictions from BF3 for example, and we're left with the same game, except with more freedom. Team players could have more options on how to compromise their loadout to meet the team's needs.
