I would love to have the option to play as a nameless mil-sim operator, you have the models that the NPCs use, and you showed us in the trailer the perspective of a common soldier running towards the battlefield, I just don't like playing one character that both factions can use, It would've been a lot better that each faction had their own specialist/operators just like Modern warfare did. instead, we have a clone war
- 3 years ago@Combine201 Came here to write the same, nameless mail-sim characters that can apply a specialist trait. Or have Specialists with multiple heads or character models so you can switch it up a little. Example; Angel is the specialist trait, but the playable character can be any head face combo

Hero shooters work because there is only a few players on the map and only 1 of each character can be picked per match. Having 20+ "unique" characters on the same team + on the enemy team is a total buzz kill... I would much rather have the nameless soldier, at least then it still makes some sense...- 3 years ago
The wingsuit needs removing. Give Sundance something else which contributes to team play.
Mackay's grappling hook should either be a deployable like BF2 Special Forces or changing into a deployable zip line so other people can use it.
As it is, both of these gadgets exist purely for players to run off on their own and do whatever they want. Team play has and always should be the main focus of BF games.

Hazzard game mode was a clever monetary system that forced players to equalize gameplay through fund limits on specialist upgrades. Similar to Valorant, it becomes hard to make any one specialist too strong, for too long due to a points system in which the Devs can quickly and easily modify when gameplay data shows irregularities. Yet all the gadgets, weapons, etc did not have to be numbed down to boring levels in order to make it fair, as you could have a very powerful gun, but could not also afford armor, etc...
For example, in AOW my Sundance had twice the K/D ratio of the nerfed Boris who became near useless, as the grenades she could toss were OP and the turret would be more useful if you could throw it at the enemy. So Dice dialed down Sundance, and made her less interesting and fun to play, and left Boris as a useless "Ivan" with a large ruby ring. What if instead Dice had just made the points system where you could still use OP grenades, but she would be forced to have less health, etc so that would offset the OP grenades as she would die quicker??? And maybe Boris turret worked as normal but he could not use an OP weapon, etc...
The points system works in other games. It could have worked in Hazzard if BF 2042 had launched more polished with team communication features, etc. Has Dice considered a way to balance the Specialist thorough a points system like Hazzard before the matches begin? There is more complexity and thus unintended consequences of nerfing and buffing constantly than just lowering and raising the points instead. Plus the changes would be instantly transparent and easily debatable via points...
