ok Andrew....you recognize that there's a lot of work to do. Now what are you going to do about it to convince me to buy any games with the battlefield name on it again? we are LOOOOOOOOOOOONG past the "trust me bro, i got you" phase of trust. at this point these are just words and we need to see an actual change in behavior in order to rebuild trust. that starts with dedicating resources to battlefield and communicating a roadmap to the players. this super secret "i'm not telling the community our plans" stuff needs to end.
battlefield is now in the DICE/EA need to cater to the players a bit in order to earn the trust back. the lack of resources to create content or inability/unwillingness to get people who CAN do it in a reasonable amount of time and a reasonable amount of quantity (sorry, one map every 3 months for a year isn't cutting it) is whats killing this franchise. we used to get 4 maps per DLC. now we will likely get 4 additional maps in the life of the game.
right now, as things stand i'm not opening my wallet for the next battlefield. i'm not putting any more money into this one (i don't buy skins in game anyway so that's not a reflection on this game, just a guideline for myself. i don't care what my character looks like as long as i can blend in with the environment reasonably well)
you want my money andrew? SHOW me that dice can still make a battlefield game and communicate with the players via roadmaps. then we'll talk about me getting my debit card out.

Every time I read one of these articles talking about how they are going to fix it im then I’m reminded of the developer video where they specifically stated they are not considering right now a server browser for AOW.
and I’m like, that translates as “We’re going to fix it; <whispers>No we’re not<\whispers>”
I think this is the only game in 30+ years I’ve ever been disappointed buying and can’t believe how annoyed I actually am. I guess it’s because I’m just so utterly flabbergasted as to how so utterly and monumentally wrong they got it, that I still can’t believe anyone would have thought that this was in anyway what so ever actually good.Everything they say just seems so tone death, and as though they’re still focussed on a new younger target audience, an audience I really don’t fall into.
I’m also really curious as to what kind of stats they are looking at that suggests anything is actually any good in this game or that any significant number of players actually enjoy it, broken down buy market segment. I.e new players with zero expectations VS legacy players with “those” expectations.
sigh.
just add map server browser, map rotations & squad controls already.

Following a 20-year-old formula of sucess, is a lot of work?! Looks like their still confused about what a Battlefield game is all about.

I now only lurk occasionally on this forum to marvel at how far the mighty have fallen with this franchise.
I’ve already said this in previous posts but I’m repeating myself as EA seem to have problems understanding their BF player base as shown by the embarrassing player count and repetitional damage to the game.
As much as I love the franchise and willingly pre-ordered gold/ultimate editions with premium DLC I won’t be doing this for the next game no matter how good the game may initially look.
Remember how you said the beta was an early fork in game development? Until the final game is in the hands of gamers and we can all see what’s included you won’t be getting a penny.
I haven’t played the game since before Xmas and frankly I don’t care if it’s improved or not I just cannot face BF2042 and that’s all on you and your merry bridge burning.
tbh I’m looking for another similar game to get seriously into but the console market is a bit sparse atm. I may even drift back to COD which is saying a lot.
Your empty words mean nothing
- @LordVader666 it's also like they are intentionally antagonizing players by only "allowing" players to play in the manner in which they want the players to play (referring to having 24/7 maps for some modes and not others)

literally region, map, game type, player count, server name search parameters.

They have now outwardly stated that they missed the creative mark with this title. The problem is that someone or everyone thought going the Apex route was the right call. If you look at some of the management/directors/producers involved, you will know exactly why they went this route. If they could, I am sure they would've added rainbows, unicorns, customized lipstick and fingernails, and that is not a joke. Go look them up.
The game has a player count 1/30th of COD/WZ and that can go as high as 1/60th at COD's peak. That is absolutely insane. BF is not in direct competition with COD, but it does take players away because it is comparable. COD has always been more popular (for some odd reason), but back in the day, BF was a lot closer.
The biggest issue I see is that you can't play BF like you want to. This game needs a Server Browser or it will die by Season 4.

they expect to dictate how we play (what maps we get to play and when). idk how they don't expect people to get pissed off at this approach.
- @Adamonic I am about done with it after Season 2!
