I have a cool idea, how about during stealth melee kills, a huge crazy graphic pops up during the animation that says BRUTAL FATALITY!!!! and then also maybe a popular specialist can even be a character in a mortal kombat game!!!
- @CantGetRight It's not like i expected that anything would be done during the holiday.
It think their PR team/communications does a poor job calming this situation.
Most of what comms have been putting out is just vague stuff, memes and stuff that makes it seem like they don't care.
Wonder excactly what he think is so brutal.
Communicate!! Don't just post silly meaningless post about lore that won't fit the game anyway.
Don't be sad, it is just how it works out sometimes... - Matty101yttam4 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Said it before and i'll say it again, it is entirely rational for CUSTOMERS who have PAID to expect fixes to be done after release...THAT is the end of the story for us, that's it.
It's THEIR company that chose to release right before holidays trying to maximise profits.
Anyone blaming the customers for their expectations are simply weak individuals to scared or lazy to blame the company for their timing....it just easier and less trouble for the devs if they just blame their customers who they can ignore.

EA needs to move the releases to February - After so many of these fiascos they have not earned the right to release close to the holidays where they dump a bug riddled game on the public and then just head off to vacation. I feel especially bad for young adults who saved up and bought at full price and then had their winter break sullied. Employees absolutely need relief and respite from the ordeal that is game development but EA needs to have team stay behind to handle major bug fixes and balance issues with the understanding that they'd take their PTO later.
I don't think this is possible now because of how vacations during the Christmas season work in Sweden now, but if they released in Feb or beyond they could stager the post holiday PTO so we don't have to wait 2-3 months for salvation.
Also I wish DICE exercised greater control over employee tweets as it relates to the business. Like this tweet is the definition of tone deaf. There was a way to convey this message without fishing for sympathy. *I know game development is brutal but you know what? So are a lot of professions.
* I am an advocate of unions for game developers and restrictions on crunch and support fair labor rights vigorously and wish to see conditions improve for everyone in the industry who isn't/hasn't been treated fairly.
This is the same story every BF game so I don't get why anyone needs DICE to hold their hand and pinky swear the game will be improved and layout in detail every little thing that will come out and when from here to eternity.
They obviously will provide new content and bug fixes and a few new features for a good year to year and a half as always. IT's just par for the course.
And if you already bought the game it hardly matters when stuff comes out or what comes out way off in the future somewhere. I mean who is planning a party for June and has to reserve a lan center or date, but only will do so if DICE pinky promises a few more maps, more guns and bug fixes and a rather pointless legacy scoreboard? IT's ridiculous.
And if you don't like the game now because it's just so bad for you then why would you play it before anything changes?
So I just see all the noise as only irrational. Who cares what they say. What they plan. The dates. etc. The reality is they will put in work and provide content and stuff will come out when it comes out. And until it comes out, it's vaporware.
IT's all actually rather hilarious because the irrationals that want DICE to declare everything are going to be the first to fly off the handle when something gets delayed, canceled or turns out to not be that great. It's like they really just want DICE to say something so they can fly off the handle. And print memes.
IT's all nonsense..
Nothing is going to insta-polish and insta-add content to the game. It is going to take the better part of the year of baby steps to get there.

Must really suck being the Global Director of Integrated Comms at EA right now. I never even heard of him until today.
My guess is he's stressed out because someone at EA (his boss) sent him a memo saying do something about all the negative press and social media surrounding the game.

Hey maybe don't release a totally unfinished and broken game that's completely off script of the franchise just before the holidays if you don't want a ton of emails waiting for you when you come back. Maybe release a better product NOT a few weeks before a holiday period.

So "brutal" is the word here?
Okay, this is what i find brutal:
Having a break from work and hope to have a nice game in 2042, but then finding out this game isn't finished with all that comes with it!
- M4tt_Macabre4 years agoSeasoned Rookie@CantGetRight Well then they shouldn't of released a half baked, rehashed hero shooter battle royale thingy and hoped we wouldn't notice...
It's still got a lot of potential to be the game you'd expect... But they need to own up to the fact they did drop the ball. - M4tt_Macabre4 years agoSeasoned Rookie
"Are you disappointed with Battlefield 2042? If you think the latest Battlefield game has some issue that need to be ironed out, you’re not alone, and even the higher ups at EA think the same way as well. In case you didn’t know, before 2021 was over, EA shocked gamers by announcing that not only was Vince Zampella (Respawn Entertainment boss) the newly appointed head of the Battlefield franchise, but that Halo franchise co-creator Marcus Lehto was on-board the franchise as well, as the head of the franchise’s narrative."
That said... Changes have been made I guess... So time will tell...
